Dundee United today announced that Nike will be the official kit supplier to the Club for the next four years, commencing 1 June 2009. The four year deal also includes selling Nike merchandise through the Club Shop which will now be operated by Nike UK's professional football club service provider Just Sport Pro Club.

Dundee United Chairman Stephen Thompson said, "We are delighted to secure this four year deal with such a world famous and quality brand as Nike. This exciting new partnership will see Nike supply all of our playing and training kit and a complete range of Nike products in the Club Shop, Dundee United Direct. The Nike brand is instantly recognisable world-wide and represents quality, in respect of both the product and the teams associated with it. We are therefore highly delighted to team up with such a prestigious brand, particularly going into our centenary season."

Leo Sandino Taylor, PR Manager for Nike UK, said "We are pleased to welcome Dundee United into the Nike family and confirm we will be supplying their match day and training kit from the start of the 2009/10 season through our specialist professional football club service provider Just Sport Pro Club. Dundee United is a Club with a fine tradition and an exciting future and we look forward to providing them with Nike product for the next four seasons."

Michael Heslop, Business Development Director for Just Sport Pro Club, said "We are delighted to be working with Dundee United and look forward to introducing a wide range of Nike merchandise into the Club Shop. I am sure the supporters will be happy to see the Dundee United badge alongside the world famous Nike Swoosh."

this is embarressing dundee utd, aberdeen, hamilton, all have nike. why the fuck have we not got a sponsor by now. umbro is running out at the end of the season. and we are not singhning another one with them.

My local team have Nike strips, probably similar to the ones United will have next season. They aren't the same as the Man Utd, Barcelona, Inter etc strips. They have the Nike Teamwear badge on the sleeve and are pretty basic. I wouldn't fancy Rangers having them.

They will probably only receive a small fee, if anything, to wear them.

I hope we get get a decent make like Adidas or Puma, not Lotto or Kappa

Adidas would be the best outcome but if it cant be a brand with either Nike or Adidas' international influence, I'd be delighted with Canterbury as they make top quality kit. There were rumours they were sponsoring us, was it just for baselayers?
