What long running Rangers tradition did Greame Souness end?

Almost there ... before Souness we had the naval tradition of either being clean shaven or having to wear a "full set" (like Greigy in 72) ... in fact did Coop not have to shave off his Zapata moustache when he came from Clydebank?

You maybe right.

I'm sure Greig had an accident where he cut himself badly and therefore couldn't shave hence the goatee in 1972

Coop had a porn star tache in 1977 at the Paper Hankies but had to shave it when he signed.

Hello Bears,

The Orange Order used to have a parade to Ibrox the Sunday before the Big Walk known as the Ibrox Church Parade.

This stopped under the Souness reign the Order used to have a service in Ibrox sadly this came to a halt. Rangers said at the time the service was not well attended might be the case but the parade was as all lodges and bands attended this occasion.

It is just another part of our tradition that has been eroded.

There never was a tradition to allow a full beard and tache, Greig had his in 1972 cause he tripped over a bench and badly gashed his chin, making it impossible for him to shave. The press were then given the line that he would not shave off his beard till we won the cup.

That's right he was following the flight of a ball and ran into a bench and split his chin open ... in fact he said it looked like he had 2 mouths <cr>
