The pictures don't really show how bad it was because it doesn't show the raking of Edu's calf with a third movement. TV evidence should be used to deal with the thug.

Mail today said Loovens had better hope it didn't catch SFA's attention...can't we alert them to it and make a complaint?

I remember BBC Scotland contacting the SFA asking whether one of our players was going to be punished for an off the ball incident (he was then punished for) so I am sure they will do the same thing here……

I'm sure you're right GCL, BBC Scotland are a fair, unbiased company, and will go out of their way to ensure fairness in cases such as these...

According to the Irish Times the SFA are going to look in to it.

The Scottish Football Association have confirmed that they are to study video footage of Glenn Loovens’s challenge on Maurice Edu during Saturday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox.

There was concern for the home side just before the break when Edu crumpled to the turf after apparently suffering a late tackle from the Celtic defender.

Despite initially looking like his game was over, the Ibrox midfielder was able to return to the action and help Rangers hold on to the 1-0 lead given to them by Steven Davis which took them two points clear of the champions at the top of the Premier League

An SFA spokesman said: “We review incidents every Monday morning. This incident has been drawn to our attention and will be looked at and then the referee will be asked for his opinion.

“If the referee missed the incident, and it requires further investigation, it will go to the Review Panel.”

Okay they are going to look at it, even the most ardent Declan in the review panel will have to admit that it was a shocking never mind dangerous assault, you can't call it a tackle in any sense, so serious foul play, is it a 3 match ban straight away?

Just as bad as a stamp if you ask me.
