Scunthorpe sign Jones

Recommended Posts

SCUNTHORPE United have today completed the signing of centre back Rob Jones from Scottish Premier League side Hibernian.

The 29-year-old player has signed a three year deal at Glanford Park.

The Iron will not reveal the fee, but it is likely to be a club record of in excess of £350,000.

Jones, who has been club captain at Hibs, travelled to Scunthorpe yesterday to agree terms with manager Nigel Adkins.

He then returned to Edinburgh last night and the deal was finally completed this morning.

Jones has been the number one target for Adkins all summer.

The former Grimsby Town player has been in Scotland for the past three seasons, making over 100 appearances for Hibs.

Not a bad price for a decent centre half

Look forward to seeing Barr going to Hibs then.

Hibs won't be spending £6m on him!

I bet we could get him £2m if we put a bid in though

Why would you want him?

And you said Jones is 'decent' as well - thank god Walter's the one picking centre halves :P
