Muff 245
Sky Sports News understands Everton have been given permission to speak to Sheffield United full-back Kyle Naughton. The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park since the end of last season as David Moyes looks to increase his options at right-back. Blades boss Kevin Blackwell denied receiving a £5million bid for Naughton, but it appears the youngster could now be on his way to Everton. Naughton only made his first-team debut for the Blades at the start of last season in a Carling Cup tie against Port Vale, having spent a spell on loan at Gretna the previous campaign. He made a total of 50 appearances as the Blades missed out on promotion to the Premier League after losing to Burnley in the play-off final. Blackwell told Sky Sports News earlier this week that he would not be surprised if his players were the subject of interest from clubs in the top flight. Everton look set to be the first team to successfully raid Bramall Lane after opening discussions with Naughton regarding personal terms. The Blades' international chairman Terry Robinson said: "We have accepted a bid for Kyle, that's correct. "The two clubs have been negotiating this last week and we have agreed terms with Everton, but nothing has been agreed with the player. "We won't be revealing the amount until any deal is done and our acceptance is conditional on Kyle reaching agreement with them over personal terms. "It's a good deal for the player and Sheffield United. We wouldn't have agreed to it if it wasn't a good deal for the club." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5424288,00.html Made his Gretna debut against Rangers back in 2008 - just over a year later, and he's on the verge of joining Everton in a bid worth to be over £5m. I can't really remember him in the SPL but saw quite a bit of him last season for Sheffield United, and he looks a very good player.
TexasGers 96
Don't know much about him, but David Moyes seems to be one of the best when it comes to plucking players out of the Championship or League

The Gretna game; was that the 4-2 game when KD scored two then moved to Salt Lake City the next day?
mark_ni 12
cant say i even remember him, £5m for a 20yr old defender is a hell of a lot of money. Moyes obviuosly sees something in him to pay that sort of money. I suppose he is an england under 21 international, that probably doubles his price down there. Ryan_1 1,132
I remember when Kyle Naughton played for Gretna and I was extremly impressed then. I also remember feeling sorry for him, for being so much better than the rest of the Gretna team, he had no help what so ever. Gretna were truly awful. sdunsmb 43
My mates a Sheff Utd, so I've been to watch them a few times a season and I always watch them on T.V. Both Naughton and Walker have been absolutley class this season - bags of pace and power, solid defneding and Hutton-esque rampages forward. I think £5m is a very good price and another great signing by Moyes. Anyone who watched the play-off final will know how good these boys are.

BlueSuedeSambas 52,642
Spurs are after him now, what would him signing for spurs mean for hutton? Are Spurs not after Walker as opposed to Naughton? Regardless of which in it is I think it does little with regards to Hutton's future at Spurs because I don't think 'Arry fancies him at all.
Muff 245
Depends on where they want to play Naughton. He's just as comfortable at left back as he is at right back.

I hope he finds a new club where he will get 1st team action because he's a great player and it would be unfair for him to down as an EPL flop.
