wullieboy 0
why after so many years of accepting direct debits have rangers now insited on credit card only payments for all matches i go and watch rangers home away and in europe but dont have a credit card (i dont like them) i called the ticket office and their response was ask a friend if you can use theirs because without one you cant get non season ticket matches i love the rangers but this situation has got me wondering if i should even bother going to non season ticket matches has anyone else had the same problem im having a disgruntled lifelong fan

Davy 68
I was in the same situation last year and I missed out on cup final tickets because I didn't have a credit card. I actually got one this summer just for those matches.
Gaffbear 4,082
It's cos Rangers get a quid or so for every credit card used and get nothing for debit cards. Just another Murray con
Boab 73
My visa debit card has worked fine for the past 4 or 5 years on the CC scheme Which is why I can't understand either the OP or Davy's post tbh.

CanadianBacon 2,088
Welcome to the world of David Murray's Rangers, where the working class are second class, the middle class are 1st class and the unemployed are nowhere. Coming soon: Credit rating checks on anyone walking along Edmiston Drive wearing a Rangers scarf. The sooner this money-grabbing bastard is gone from among us the better. Cost me an extra £1.50 yesterday to have my swipe card activated for the Man City game using my credit card. It's all about money.
FlippinEck 3,514
Could I suggest one of these... http://uk.virginmoney.com/virgin/prepaid-card/ Its a pre-paid master card, you load your money onto it, you wont go into debt, you know what you can and cant spend on it and you can load money directly onto the card from your bank account or by cash where there is a topup machines (special logo to look for in shop windows)
MayboleLoyal_atb 3,448
Ordered 3 sets of 2 day tickets for Emirates tournament and it cost me £1.50 per ticket. An extra fucking 9 quid they got off me.
GeneralCartmanLee 313
It's because Rangers are gaurenteed the payment from a credit card and aren't from a direct debit. I believe they were spending too much time and effort chasing people who defaulted on direct debits.

radlord 24
Why not just get a CC if you do need one, and just use it for the Rangers? It's not that hard not to immediately rush out and buy a small Lebanese boy on it, surely? If your credit score isn't absolutely fucked you shouldn't have a problem getting one and it shouldn't cost you anything if you immediately pay the balance off should it? Hardly great service from rangers but hey.
kplfishtank 4,645
i ordered emirates tkts and paid by credit card and never paid 1-50 per ticket as a matter of fact i only paid 150 quid for the 4 x2day package
Nemesis 277
I seem to remember seeing something about Visa charging companies a handling fee for all debit transactions Means Rangers drop £2 or so on every sale. You'd think we'd absorb it and carry on but clearly not. Things must be bad indeed.

Dennis 1,011
so if you cant get credit, you cant support Rangers.
davidrennie75 0
so if you cant get credit, you cant support Rangers. pretty much it also therefore makes it difficult for anyone under 18 to get tickets for themselves. not everyone is cashed by mummy n daddy
Jimfanciesthedude 24,058
It's because Rangers are gaurenteed the payment from a credit card and aren't from a direct debit. I believe they were spending too much time and effort chasing people who defaulted on direct debits. think was the OP means mate is that you now cannot buy single game tickets with a debit card now so basically even if you have the money in the bank, rangers wont accept your card as its not a visa card which is now fucking unreal if you ask me, murray seems to be doing ANYTHING to make sure its us that gets the club money, not him i cannot make every game as i work most weekends, but anytime i could go i would just head over to the ticket centre and pay with my visa debit card now if i cannot do that they can go to fuck, cant get a credit card and tbh i dont want one either
Nameless Ghoul 5,816
what are u all on about? u still CAN use debit cards.. man city tickets have been available for season ticket holders for ages..
