Fulham have accepted a £5m bid from Hull City for striker Bobby Zamora.

Tigers manager Phil Brown turned his attention towards the 28-year-old after Manchester United's Frazier Campbell opted to join Sunderland.

Brown also missed out on Marc-Antoine Fortune, who signed for Celtic, but has said the club are close to a deal for Sunderland striker Daryl Murphy.

Zamora joined Fulham from West Ham last summer but scored only two goals in 35 league appearances for the Cottagers.

The former England Under-21 international made his name with Brighton but he failed to establish himself after a move to Tottenham.

He joined West Ham in February 2004 and scored 40 goals in all competitions for the Upton Park club.

Hull will now hope to discuss personal terms with Zamora, although any deal may have to wait until the player returns from Fulham's pre-season tour of Australia.

Brown has been keen to strengthen his attacking options and had a £6m bid for Campbell accepted by United, as well as matching Celtic's bid for former Nancy striker Fortune.

While I don't rate him just much as 5 million, its perhaps conservative in this day and age of transfer fees.

he is utter pish. Never been able to make the step up from.. brighton was it? Someone in the championship or league one, he had a cracking record for them. Done nothing in the premiership though. Fulham will be laughing all the way to the bank.

I don't care what people say about the standard of the SPL but the fact that Bobby Zamora is worth more than Kris Boyd ATM is absoultely insane.

He's improved a bit this season, but he's probably got one of the worst scoring records of any striker in EPL history, and has basically been a laughing stock for fans. The songs says it all.

Not as bad as everyone is saying, although not worth £5m. He only got 2 league goals last season but 8 assists, he's quite good at linking play too. Also, he got 11 PL goals for West Ham a couple of seasons back.

So they are planning to spend upwards of 6.5 million on two centre forwards who scored two goals between them last season.

I've thought it since the moment they stayed up and I still think it now: Hull will be doomed by Christmas.

And Phil Brown was going on about trying to get a proven goalscorer in because they lacked one, the mind baffles doh
