Danny 9
Striker Kenny Miller says Rangers are determined to go one better and improve on the success of last season's league and cup double. "Last year's done and dusted; the double is gone. We've got to go again and set our sights on the treble," the Scotland international said. Miller said he would be sorry to see Barry Ferguson leave Ibrox in a £1m move to Birmingham City. "Barry's a friend of mine and he's a really good footballer," he said. Miller said he was looking forward to the new season and the opportunity to test himself against the best in the Champions League. Winning the title last season saw Rangers clinch a place in the group stages of the Champions League and an estimated £10m windfall. And the Rangers striker said it was vital the club retained their most talented players as they look to defend their SPL title. However, deposed captain Ferguson looks to have played his last game for the club as he nears a £1m move to English Premier League outfit Birmingham City. Miller said: "Obviously, towards the end of last season, it was rumoured that he was going to be leaving the club. "It's down to Barry and the club to find a new club for him and one that suits both parties." Miller added: "Bar Fergie, we have the exact same squad here and if nobody leaves then we'll be more than happy with that. "I'm sure the club will be looking to strengthen in certain positions. Whether funds are there, I'm not sure. "Any team always looks to strengthen in the close season and we're no different. "I'm sure the manager will be looking at a few options to bring in a few fresh faces to the squad." Miller was speaking as Rangers chairman Sir David Murray issued a statement saying he has no plans to sell any of his top players ahead of the new season.
