This will be a good chance to give the likes of McGregor, Thomson, Boyd, Velicka, Aaron, Beasley, S.Smith, Fleck, Shinnie, Loy, Wilson, Ness etc a run out.

Hopefully nobody picks up any injuries (tu)

*McGregor start

*Thomson get 60 mins or so

*Boyd get 90 mins

*Velicka get a good run out

*Aaron get a start

*Beasley get 45 mins or so

*S.Smith start and play close to 90 mins as he may well start on Saturday

*The rest of the youngsters to get a good run out

I've wanted to see more of the youth in pre season, its great they get their chance on monday...no point in throwing them in against the likes of Arsenal, PSG, Nuremberg and City because that's like throwing them to the wolves. What would they have learned against that high calibre of opposition...to run? Cos they wont have had a touch of the ball. This gives em a real test against SPL opposition.

A rangers team got beat off Houston Dynamo Academy 4-0 at Murray Park

Don't read too much into this result, yes the Americans were a decent side and had a few players worth looking at. They were on average around 2 years older. If Rangers had to pick an Under 18 "Academy Side" only keeper Inglis and Dylan McGeough would be likely starters from yesterdays team.

It was disappointing the way they collapsed when going 0-1 down on the hour mark, up to that point it was an even game and Rangers had look most likely to score.
