Ashfield vs. Clydebank

Poor Boab, his team got put out the cup by Ashfield.

First time at that ground and there were a good 200-300 there.

Was a decent enough game, first half was poor but the second half felt like a real cup tie. The goalie mucked up Ashfield's winner, and they were pretty lucky.

Think they are one of the first to progress after getting their match moved from Wednesday to Tuesday due to the Scotland game being on.

Anyone else there?

EDIT - Should have said, game was 2-1.

na but my girlfriends dads going to the Yoker v Maryhill game tommorrow night

im sure thats the other game in the section

Yeah, seen Yoker at Blantyre a few weeks ago. I think one of the guys on here is their sub goalie. They look a decent enough team but couldn't really get their chances finished.

That should be a good game, shame it won't be meaningful in terms of the group, but I'm staying in the house to see the Scotland game I think.

Was pretty surprising that Ashfield won all 4 of their games, I think most of the teams from that section are in the same league now. Was expecting this one to be a close section.

What about Rutherglen? They got promoted last year and have lost all their games in their cup section, and I think most of the teams are below them in terms of league. They play Blantyre tomorrow night in what I think is a meaningless game.

im not really inot hte juniors to be honest, i remember going to see Benburb about 12 years ago but that was it. I was passing going to my grans and i seentheyre stadium and asked my dad if he would take me, other than that ive never been anywhere.

need to find out who the Yoker goalie is then , my girlfriends dad does something with the club, not entirely sure what it is. he invited me along to train to try and improve my fitness, not sure if i would rather just go running instead!

That would be a great way to get fit I think.

Training with the motivation of getting a kick about at the end, and getting to know players from a junior team, which in turn would give you an interest in their games. Sounds great to me.

My papa would take me to see Cambuslang home and away almost every week when I was 6-8 but I have kind of watched the games on and off since then. I've been to three this season, and since my Papa is really up to date with everything thats going on I generally am. If it wasn't for him I'd be clueless.

It's a thing that kind of interests me for periods then it fades away and comes back. Since the season starts so early I'm usually into it at this time every year.

For a junior team, Clydebank have a massive following. Took 5000 to the junior Scottish cup final in May there at Rugby Park.

Yeah, Ashfield players got booed coming out tonight and the Clydebank players got treated like heroes. Most passionate Junior support I've seen.

Away man the official attendance was about 8,500

and Auchinleck had a larger following than the Bankies by a good 1,500.
