Rangers over Scotland anyday!

As a Rangers fans first and foremost, the trials and tribulations of the national team come a distant second.

Of course, I take an active interest in following Scotland and want to see them do well but growing up in the eighties and nineties, I've grown used to their glorious failings.

As much as I'd like to see them make the World Cup next year, if we are being realistic it's not going to happen. Even if we somehow manage to scramble into the playoffs, I can't see us emerging victorious over two legs against sides such as Croatia and Russia.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that although I'm disappointed with the state of our national side and the result last night, I'd be happily accept it in return for another trophy laden season at Ibrox.

I'm sure alot of my fellow bears will agree.

It's a rangers site what the feck do you expect the answers to be?

You can support both you know, what a pointless thread.....

Sorry for offending you mate.

There will be a lot of gers fans hurting over the scotland showing last night.

Just wanted to display a sense of perspective.

Moses McNeil founded the club and played for Scotland.

Sadly multi tasking doesn't seem to be a tradition that has taken hold amongst the support.

One is our club, the other (if your a Scot) is our nation. It's not that difficult a concept to grasp. Did you see the lad Miller, or Whittaker, or Alexander. They're also Rangers players. You'll see them at Ibrox on Saturday. Don't be shocked by the fact they play for both club and country. Just like them, you can support both.

You can even, and whisper it quietly, want Rangers to win every trophy AND for Scotland to do well. But shhh, don't say it too loud on here.

Moses must be spinning in his grave today!

Personally i don't have a huge amount of passion for the national team just now.

It's a self-defence thing, i know how pissed-off i'd be at the inept handling by the manager if i actually gave a fuck.

The shambolic treatment of our club captain, both during and after Loch Lomond, didn't help my feelings towards it either.

Burley has taken us so far backwards it's untrue.

You make a lot of vaild points. And I support both my club and my country. I just feel more of a connection (here's that word again) towards Rangers and would sacrifice international success for domestic dominance.

Of course, football doesn't work on such a bargaining tool basis.

Watching Scott '£10m' Broon play pass after pass straight out of play was absolute joy.

He struggled big time last night although having just read a colleague at works Daily Record, he scored the highest rating. Surprise Surprise.

Yes no surprise there Eh, predictable are the old mhedia, always cover up one of their own at times like this, but broon is now in the heidless doo category and they know it hence the plaudits to boost him. Wee prediction he will be sent off at least twice this coming season, he's beginning to look like a man possessed, mad look in his eyes, regretting wearing that clatty green and grey. :sherlock:

Aye mate. 6/10.

"energetic, enthusiastic, everything you would expect from him as he tried to support Miller and make tackles in a congested engine room"

Moses McNeil founded the club

Did he now?

I don't post on here enough to know if there's been a debate on this - am I wrong in thinking he was one of the founders?

Genuinely interested.

Yes he was one, and the best known, I just think sometimes the others get neglected a bit.

If you love the club then Rangers always come first.

It's a bit like which parent did you love the most. The vast majority of us loved both our parents equally, some had a preference (that's just life I guess). I'd never knock someone who only loved one of their parents, but I'm happy to have loved both of mine.

Guess to take the analogy further, Aiden McGeady, plays for the Mhanks and deserted his country, so clearly didn't have any parents :pipe:

Moses McNeil (2 Scotland Caps),

Peter Campbell (2 Scotland Caps, 3 goals),

Tom Vallance (7 Scotland Caps)

Henry McNeil (10 Scotland Caps, 6 goals).

That any better

:scot:

And I agree by the way, all the founders should be remembered, I was just shorthanding to make the point that our history is entwined with Scotland, and we should celebrate that.

Our Gallant Pioneers :pipe:

If any of them are spinning in their graves today I reckon it will be about the shambles that the great institution they founded has become.
