OzGers 425 Posted August 15, 2009 Share Posted August 15, 2009 interesting move, i am a little surprised, but maybe this was velickas doing? i think with naisy back we are going to have a born again striker and there will be alot more emphasis on laff this year...may also mean that little and blum (if we sign him) get an eye in...in any event, velicka is a decent striker but there is better at the club and would rather give a few younger ones a run in front of him...might even punt him for some cash! We have no strong striker in a similar mould who is "guarenteed" to get goals as it remains to be seen wether or not Lafferty is as clinical (and he certainly isnt an ideal target man) I'm not getting the whole Lafferty thing at all tbh. We should have been looking to sell him to a top end Championship/bottom end Premiership side this Summer. Are you referring to Boyd or Lafferty? Lafferty He was undescribably bad against Man City And Arsenal, although tbh, he was chasing lost causes and got marked out and outpaced by silvestre the whole game. Looking back we got fucking robbed, especially considering the players Burnley brought in with that cash... We have a right laugh at celtic for buying loovens but they would probably have rather spent that money on loovens than the money we spent on Kyle and I hope im not the only one that thinks that I don't see the reason people seem to think Lafferty; (a) Is a striker; he does not have the quick mind and reactions that a goalscoring striker needs, he does not have the basic control that a striker needs, he does not have the 2 footed ability that a striker needs. Were you one of the guys getting on Hateleys case during his first season when he was dire? plenty were without seeing the big picture, Lafferty imo has all the tools in the box to be a top drawer player for us, a Lafferty/Naismith pairing will be our front two for years to come. If you dont hit the ground running at the Rangers your branded a dud by plenty on here after a short time, lighten up ffs. They guy has shown on many occasions that he can find the net, in the box and from distance. I just hope he gets plenty of games for city, so we can get him back a sharper more confident player.
