just caught a headline on sky there, busy doing a reboot of my old laptop for my son, ans caught a story about ur man gascoigne suposedly again melted on the sauce.

now, as a player for glasgow rangers, i thought he was a good, good player, but a member of the legends 11? i am not too sure.

if, and i do hope he is, and he is doing well, can u see newcastle, spurs, lazio, everton and even the FA giving paul help, and if not why not? why should glasgow rangers, fans mostly feel sorry for him, and bail him out? do spurs, newcastle and lazio supporters not feel the same?

now i wish him well, but this is a constant worry, where as a club and as fans, rangers have other worries as well to deal with?

He looked fine at Sir Bobby's memorial service the other day.

As far as I'm concerned, Rangers fans should be glad to be known for such loyalty.

is he solely our concern?

every time i see him, he is going on about newcastle, this and that, and yes, he did love rangers, but why does Newcastle Football Club, supposeldy his first team and love not give him more support?

i do hope he is ok, but really could you trust him with a packet of wine gums?

very, very sad for a very good player.

people critisice ferguson for too old, not good enough, not fit to wear the band, he a crab, thinks he bigger than the club, but gave ten year on and off of really good sevice.

gazza, gave two years, is now a legend to some, has major alcohol issues yet, now still can do no wrong?

bet the fans of lazio, who worshipped him after scoriung against roma would distance themselves.

lets hope he can get better, and not worship a guy who done well, but could have been a great.

Guest The Brown Brogue

May sound harsh but as much as he was an excellent player for us I really couldn't give a sh*t what he gets up tp nowadays.

Its not up to Rangers to sort the guys life out.

I haven't seen anyone say he is solely our concern.

He's one of the best players to play for us, and watching him play for the 3 years he was with us was one of my highlights of watching football. Does that make hima legend? I couldn't say, but he's one of my all time heroes, despite his faults.

If we, as a club, have the opportunity to give some meaningful help, should we give it? Damn right we should. That doesn't mean giving him a job or anything like that, and I don't know what help we can give him, but if there was something then we should be doing it.

Should we measure ourselves against other clubs as to whether we give that help? No. We set our own standards.

The only person that can help Gazza is Gazza himself. He has got to walk his own path.

No harm in offering friendship, but money or jobs is not what he needs.

The sad thing is he still seems to want to be in the spotlight which is the last thing he needs.

I hope he finds his way to recovery, he is a true legend to me.

Seen that aswell, 6pints in 20mins

legend

You think he is a legend for downing 6 pints in 20 mins?!

The guy has a serious problem and needs help and while most of us would be willing to give it to him if we could im sure you would just stand back egging him on.

Get a fucking grip!

He is a legend in his own right for his wonderful footballing talent

A legend on the park he was indeed , while i want and wish him to recover there must come a point where we cant keep saying poor Gazza . He has had help endless times and chosen to wal the same path .

Maybe others need to get a grip and accept that all we can do is offer words of encouragement that it would appear will continue to fall on deaf ears.

I for one like many on here have my own family an problems to deal with .

I hope he gets better but the time for me has come where I cant dwell on what Gazza is doing to HIMSELF!!!!!

There I for one got a grip

Total legend. However the only one that can help is himself, and sadly I dont think that will happen. The way George Best went should of been a wake up call for him but I can only see him drinking himself to an ealry grave such a shame.

i think he be next to go

Hand on heart I fear he is not far away.

The hard fact about alcohol abuse at this level is that the body can and only take so much.

There are only so many hammerings it can take because the alcohol is now effectively a poison. Forget the fact he was a profesional footballer, its completely irrelevant. His body has now been ravaged by alcohol, in exactly the same as the stereotypical street drunk that society pidgeonholes an alcoholic to be. He is at a very late stage in the process of alcohol killing him.

Until he can break both the physical and more importantly the mental dependancy, then I honestly believe its now only a matter of time. and not a lot of time either. :(
