Coopermania 1
Any team that is to win the title probably needs 6/7 players who can be depended on week in week out. Do we have any I hear some of you cry? Well I think we do. Theyre not playing like they should, but in my mind its better to have a bad patch like this now rather than later. The tims dont worry me. They will have major slip-ups as they are no great shakes. My 7 players that I think can have a solid season. McGregor: I have no worries there. Alexander as back-up. Bougherra: our best player in my opinion. Papac: has his moments, but at his best hes a sound player. Need a big season from him. Davis: he is crucial to the team. If he plays well we generally do. Thomson: if he can stay injury-free, this could be the season where he makes great strides. Boyd: wont alway play but WILL score consistently. Rothen: has class and been there and done it at top level. Still seems hungry. Consistent so far. Mendes, Novo, Naismith, Whittaker, Miller and the rest are hit and miss for me and will play as required. Mendes, Whittaker and Weir should play most weeks. simplythebest 11,453
McGregor is too error prone, Papac has had a pretty poor season so far, Davis is still suffering from inconsistency, Thomson needs to get back to full match fitness still and who knows how long it could take, Boyd can't buy a goal currently and Rothen is still finding his feet in this country. All in all i'm not sure we can rely on anyone currently!

I'd always have Boyd in my team. I'm not buying into all this Thompson stuff, I like Papac, Davis goes missing with the rest of the midfield far too often. I agree that most of them havent bought into the consistency thing yet, but Im hoping they will Papac so far hasnt played well, agreed but I feel that will change. Boyd will find his scoring boots again, all strikers experience bad spells. Davis and Thomson I have faith in, but they need to start taking games by the scruff of the neck. Guest SandyWaTp
I we could rely on Novo when playing every week. He was poor today IMO. He is an impact player and shouldn't start games.
NorthUistBear 86
Bougherra. Davis if played in proper position. Hopefully Rothen, he looks the part so far.

He is an impact player and shouldn't start games. Novo is a man to bring on with 20 minutes to go. Keep him hungry, its worked well before.

TexasGers 96
As of right now, I think the only players we can really rely on game in and game out are Bougherra and Rothen. Bougherra has been consistently solid defensively and his forward runs are something the other players can learn from. And even though he has only played a handful of matches, Rothen has been a good acquisition, and I believe his play will continue to improve. McGregor has generally been good the past few games, but as we saw against Hearts, he is prone to an occassional moment of madness. Added to that his distribution is way behind Alexanders. Whittaker's game too often depends on his attacking play, and when he isn't making things happen in the final third, his defensive skills usually don't make up for it. Weir can still perform well in most SPL matches, but Walter will run him into the ground if he has to play 3 games a week. Papac rarely has a great game but rarely has a really poor game. He is solid defensively but sometimes doesn't offer as much going forward. A few weeks ago, I said we had a midfield that wouldn't look out of place in a top 10 EPL side. The past few games have been League 1 standard from our midfield. Davis was excellent in the first few matches, but his form has dipped and he often finds himself drifting in and out of matches. Mendes is able to split the defense open at least once or twice a game, but like Davis, has drifted in and out of matches. Thomson doesn't look like his old self and I wonder how much of that is down to his recovery. McCulloch played well in center midfield against Falkirk and Hearts earlier this year, but again, his form has fallen, and whether he is played at CB or in midfield, sometimes it looks as the game is bypassing him. Miller and Boyd have not been scoring or even creating many chances, and when they aren't doing that, they become a detriment to our play. Naismith has had some good games this year, but I still think he should be played up front as a striker or not at all. All in all, on paper we have a good squad that is better than Celtic's starting 11, and if we can just find a measure of consistency, I believe we can blossom into a solid team that can bring home the title again.
