Ryan_1 1,136
Miller - Couldn't care less. McCulloch - Would like him in the squad at least. Thomson - Always seems to play well against Celtic (never lost against them with us) and he needs to keep getting 90 minutes under his belt. Lafferty - Hopefully he's on the bench come Sunday. A good 15-20 minutes from big Kyle would be ideal.

Coopermania 1
I dont see that as much of a hardship. The replacements that come in coupled with a bit of shuffling around should be enough to beat them.

Boab 73
by Lindsay Herron WALTER SMITH has four major injury concerns to contend with as he strives to plot victory in the first Old Firm derby of the season. Kenny Miller is feeling some hamstring pain, Kevin Thomson has a knee knock, Lee McCulloch has been suffering from flu and Kyle Lafferty is not recovered from his injury problems. The next two days are crucial in terms of which of the four will be fit to face Celtic and clearly Smith is hoping at least the first three will make it. Both Miller and Lafferty were back in full training today which suggests that there is a chance both or either could make it although in the case of Lafferty he has not played since suffering a knee injury in Northern Ireland's 1-1 draw with Poland on September 5. However, neither Thomson nor McCulloch were on the training field today at Murray Park. He said: "I'm hoping that the few days will have helped Kenny. He is going to see a specialist in Germany next week. "If it has settled down a bit we will find out after the next couple of days' training. If that is the case then there is a possibility we could start with him but the injury will have to settle down before we can make that decision. "Lee McCulloch has a flu bug but I would hope that he would be OK. "Kevin Thomson has soreness in his knee which is not unexpected considering he has played three games in quick succession after being out for 10 months. "So the two of them are a little bit of a concern to us. "If Kyle can get some training in the next couple of days there is a possibility that he could be involved. "But he has been a little bit slow to recover from this one. He will work with the physio today and he may get some training tomorrow. "It's five or six weeks since he last played so we have to be careful with that situation. "We were obviously looking forward to having him this season but he had a three game suspension and now he has been injured for nearly six weeks so we have not had him at all. "I felt this was going to be a big season for him because he has had his settling in period but then he got injured playing for Northern Ireland against Poland." Both Sasa Papac and Steve Davis are fine having played the whole game against Sevilla after missing out against Aberdeen the weekend before. http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/He...1815397,00.html
Muff 245
Yet more injuries, suprise, suprise - the benefits of having a paper thin squad are....????? We could possibly have to play Mendes and Davis as our central midfield pairing on Sunday - absolutely no bite in there at all, and the options that will be on the bench are frightening. Otis 1
If Lafferty aint fully fit then we shouldn't risk him against the Tims.

Poetry_In_Blue 1,043
I think KT will make it, and possible big Lee, anyway if they don't we can have a midfield 4 of Rothen, Mendes, Davis and either Naismith or Novo, with either Naismith or Novo playing up front with either Fleck, Boyd or Little. Davis and Mendes will have to step up their games and Davis being the bully, but I still think they are good enough to beat Celtic.

So our team, the one that competes on the park for the whole season, the one that tries to win trophies, make the Champions League, and make Rangers money, is broken down to save on wages. In the long run, it will hamper us, but unfortunatley there is no long term plan at Rangers. Again, I blame the management teams buying last summer - central midfielders and strikers, when it was clear that we needed other positions filled. We are only at the start of October, going into the 1st Old Firm game of the season, and we may only have 14 first team players available/fully fit.... There is absolutely no need going into any sort of game with a midfield containing both McCulloch and Thomson, especially when Mendes and Davis are available. Smack's of negativity, lack of creativity, width and balance.
