Boab 73
Dimitar Berbatov admits he still needs to change in order to fit in at Manchester United. The Bulgarian failed to hit the heights expected of him in his first season following his £30.75million move from Tottenham last year. The 28-year-old scored just nine league goals last term and came in for some major criticism from the Old Trafford faithful. But Berbatov admits that it is him who needs to adapt to life at United. "That is my fault, not theirs. It is me who must change," he said of the criticism. "Manchester United are their club. They have treated me perfectly since I came. "In my first year I was disappointed in myself. I need to say that. "It was a big pressure for me and maybe I failed myself. I think I wanted to prove myself to these supporters. "You must remember, they are used to Best, Charlton, Cantona. I am just Dimitar. "I got a number of assists, but I must score more goals. "I don't know what I am doing wrong sometimes. Maybe it's luck, maybe it's me... who knows? "At nights I have stayed awake thinking, 'You could have done this instead'." Berbatov has begun his second term in better fashion and has scored two league goals already. "I am more pleased with my overall game in this second season already," he told The Sun. "I feel that I have integrated myself better into the team. I am much stronger, much fitter. But I still wish I could score more." Style Berbatov admits his languid style has not always endeared him to the fans, saying: "This is my style of play. I don't run for no reason. I am always alert and ready. "I looked at our ProZone stats and saw that I was ninth in distance covered. "I am kind of a nerd. I looked at them too much, maybe. By the end of the season I was fourth. Maybe this season I will be first!" He admits his hefty price-tag was also a heavy burden to carry, but he insisted that he was happy. "Who can live up to that sort of money? Nobody can. If I think about that money it is crazy to me. I can't believe it," he said. "I am playing with legends like Scholes, Giggs and Rooney. Being coached by a man like Sir Alex Ferguson. How can I not be happy?" http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5599794,00.html Can appear lazy but I like him though if I were a Utd fan, I'd have wanted my team to have signed Huntelaar instead at the time or earlier. Jimbo. 952
Some of his touches when he came on for Owen on Wednesday were out of this world. I still think he'll come good in time, he doesn't seem to fit into the the system utd play just now unfortunately.
papaguy51 941
If he's worth £30m, I'd expect no less than £40m for Bougherra!

brissyger 8
Overrated to be honest. Did well at Spurs but not really happening for him at Man U. Always fun seeing Man U players tank though.
Jimbo. 952
Berba playing the Sheringham role in Utd's old-style 442 would cause havoc.
SpursGer 0
It's not happening because Fergie's using him wrong. He's not a striker who will allow Rooney so drop deep and play his game; he plays the same hole. He's a link man, on I could probably make an argument that he's one of the World's best, if not the best. Berbatov is World class. It's laughable to suggest he's not good enough for them. If SAF ever gets round to using him properly, you'll see the real Dimi.

Muff 245
Sublime, quality, amazing, a touch of class....some of his touches, flicks, tricks, passes, turns are a joy to watch. I don't know how he manages to pull some of them off. The right weight and balance he get's at times is scary. On the other hand, he's sometimes inconsistant, lazy, terrible, frustrating.... When he's on form, he's untouchable, when he's off form, he's a waste of space.
Scott-RFC 308
I still think he will come good week in week out, showed what he can do on Wednesday

alstone 374
i hated him for a while, but he's quite a useful player who has some amazing flicks and touches to make opportunities. will see how he gets on this season but i doubt he will justify his price tag! Gid 47
Excellent player. Reads the game well and his link up play is exceptional. Man Utd played much better when he came on during the week. I agree that he's not used correctly by Utd.
Gaz52 11,837
His close control and silky touches are incredible he's also very good at spotting and playing a pass, on his game he's one of the best in the world without doubt
alstone 374
he never looks like he's trying or that he gives a fuck that was my main beef with him
disgruntled_bear 157
He'd be more suited to La Liga or Seria A, hopefully he moves on soon.
ShootSpeedKillLight 0
Brilliant player, but it hasn't really happened for him at Man Utd yet. Having said that, he was excellent against Wolfsburg. I think this could be his season.
papaguy51 941
He's not worth £30m, never in a million years. Then again, with the prices down South....

If Roque Santa Cruz is a £17.5m striker, Berbatov is a £30.75m striker. No-one that Man Citeh buy is of 'true value', if you get what I mean SG. It's impossible to gauge a proper valuation of a player from a transfer to Citeh. I like Berbatov, I think he's absolutely awesome. But, if Man Utd are gonna keep playing him in an alien position, he defintely won't be worth the £30m. He should have stayed at Spurs. rangers4eva 12
Great player with excellent touch and vision. He's shown what he can do in wee flashes but hasn't been able to deliver consistently which as someone said earlier is largely down to being played too far forward. Him and Keane were On the City point, I agree, but then the likes of Darren Bent have gone for £16.5m (twice), and Keano the year before is a £20.9m player, you've got to say that Berbatov was a fair price for the talent. On the alien position point, I agree again, and while Berba is very much worth what they paid if they were using him right, he's not worth £10m if you're going to use him as they have been. They finally seemed to use him correctly against Wolfsburg, and much as I want to hate the guy, he's given me some of my greatest ever footballing memories, and so it would be nice to see him make a success of it up there. On the last point, who knows where we'd have been last year if we'd kept those 2. You can bet your bottom dollar we wouldn't have taken 2 points from 8 games!
