as i said i lifted this from another forum (pie and bovril to be exact)

yes it is another takeover rumour, but surprisingly the name is a new one (well to me it is)

anyone heard of them???

Noticed this on a Man Utd fans forum.Supposedly it was in the Australian Financial Review.

Media moghul Jamie Packer(pictured right) allegedly has his eye on investing in a British soccer club.Scottish giants Rangers F.c from Glasgow are reported to be his target

It is believed he will invest with a South African consortium with Packer being the major share holder should the venture go ahead. The main drawcard for the fairfax heir will be the chance

to build a string of casinos in the U.K and on the European continent with the sporting investment being a sideline investment.

Packer, who like his late father has a love for sport and gambling would be following his fathers ambitions of investing in sport.Indeed it was the late Kerry Packer who handed N.R.L club Sydney Roosters

$80 million dollars to buy a side capable of winning the championship in the ninties and they achieved that within there first year of his investment. However the shennigans with salary caps was enough to scare Packer senior

away from the N.R.L,a problem that does not exist in the European soccer front.
