Can someone clear this up for me once and for all - is our debt *only* 33 million (or so), or is it somehow also connected to the megamillions owed by MIH?

SDM quite legitimately after the failed shares issue, which he claimed to underwrite, converted Rangers debt into shareholdings, the mystery is who actually owns these shares. It is thought that as much as £80 million of Rangers debt could be held elsewhere in MIH or subsidiaries. Giving a total debt or purchase price however you wish to look at it, of over £100 million, that is of course if the shares held elsewhere were traded for debt. Who can say at this moment.

It's not a mystery at all who owns these shares.

Who thinks their is £80 million worth of rangers debt in MIH ? (apart from desperate taigs)

Your post is an excellent example of why you shouldn't read people like paul from sellck quick news for your financial analysis, you just end up looking as daft as he does....

Someone buying us may just push the sellck support over the edge because they have convinced themselves that we will be in financial trouble for years to come.

Ten points behing in the league and with no CL's cash again next season you would think the monobrowed halfwits would be worrying about themselves

Thats exactly what I would like to know mate - this is one of the reasons I think Murray is not playing ball.

It worries me just how badly tied up in his mess Rangers FC really are.

You will need to explain to me how Sir David is "not playing ball" <cr>

Have there been any new updates with this?

I think there will be something on the scottish news tonight. Possibly nothing new though.

So it won't be news?

Is everything you see on the news completely new to you? Normally, no. Will come back to you on this after the news :D

I am aware that any investigation of your hero SDM is frowned upon by you, as SDM is in your mind whiter than white, your mentor SDM and his creative accounting skills are legendary, or do you think it was the sugar plum fairy who created the mess. Your post is an excellent example of vacant thought, someone really should take you to task for your constant taig references to posters who do not agree with your rosy view of the Mint, but it wont be me, you are not worth complaining about. :sherlock:

We are all getting lost on this debt issue again, an alleged debt of 27-32mil honestly it's peanuts to real money men?? plus SDM's shares whatever that amount is (even with the added share issue in the mix) SDM wants rid, so wont hold out for a massive price. So let's say for a quick deal another 35mil for all his personal shares and Rangers shares held by his various companies- £60-70mil tops. No a bad deal for the famous Glasgow Rangers. They can start to pay themselves back at the end of this season with the new season tickets, cups run, league win, new sponsorship, new merchandising, and champions League again next season, they know it make sense!!!

I didn't say you were a taig but the misinformation you are posting is typical of what you read on there sites.

interesting article

this point shows how crucial it is to winning the league and maybe our league position helped convince the Ellis team to make a bid

'The debt has come down from £31m in November to around £27m now with that figure set to fall further if Rangers secure the SPL championship and the £10-£12m of Champions League money that goes with it. Soon, Rangers' level of indebtedness to Lloyds Banking Group could be in the teens rather than the twenties, a scenario that seems to have struck a chord with the two realistic parties taking an interest in them'

on the takeover front , will "the enemy within" donald muir be congratulated on turning the club round and getting us sold if this actually happens ? We are a much more attractive prospect for any buyer now than we were when he joined the club. Of course a large part of that is down to Walter and the miracles he has produced bringing much needed money into the club but the spending has been brought under control and our debt levels are dropping slowly and surely

Seems the man might just have known what he was doing after all....turnaround specialist indeed.

Hard to disagree

But it's been a team effort. If Wattie wasn't able to cope wi the restrictions Muir was forced to adopt we'd have been dead

BUT

He could and we conquered all on the pitch. Off it we arrested the losses, tightened up and became lean

A VERY different package to the one Minty was trying to flog.

Maybe, just maybe, history will treat Muir kinder than we ever did.

Wattie has made us a far more attractive proposition to buy then when he took over so his role in this is massive. Uefa cup finals, champions league, coming up for 2nd league and in every domestic cup final has lowered our debt and raised our profile but tough decisions were made on spending and they have worked as we are the number one team again in scotland d have done this against a backdrop of much needed spending cuts and debt reduction.

I am not giving muir all the credit but the people who say he runs the club will they now give him credit for the positive stuuff and pack away there daft banners ? I seriously doubt it.......
