Walter's new signings

Walter has based his squad on having a Scottish backbone, so if he gets some cash to splash, which Scots would you like to see added in the summer?

For me, Scott Arfield and Leigh Griffiths would be realistic signing targets.

McGreaty...

Oh wait he's a plastic paddy :sherlock:

To be honest I really can't think of anyone we should sign, at the end of the day are they any better than what we've got? Sure they raise their game when playing against us, but are they good enough to make that step up?

The better ones, ie, Graham Dorrans, James Morrison (he's played for Scotland), Robert Snodgrass... wouldn't come cheap.

The other ones; Conway, Commons, Lee Wallace, Arfield... are not good enough.

Two young Scottish players who would improve our side.

Dorrans, but he'll be in the Prem next season either with West Brom or another club if they're not promoted.

Steven Fletcher, Burnley look like they're going down, still wouldn't come cheap as they would be looking for some sort of profit on the £3M they paid for him.

In reality we will not buy either player. One guy who I reckon we go for IF cash is available is Chris Brunt(Northern Irish aye but he's a Bear) we were linked with him last season, natural left sided player. I remember when the rumours were doing the round in the summer he was a popular choice on here, great striker of the ball, natural wide player and scores some crackers. Price would be an issue again though, as he was bought for 3m.

Lee Wallace left bcak over-lapping - sell Smith or Papac / Macarthur - Hamilton / Hamilton keeper ? / but hopefully he will get a

wad from a new owner that comes in and gives him pocket money !!!! you can only dream if WS had 10 mill we would be serious

challengers to the last 16 - 8 in the Champions League ! Please we deserve it after 3 miserable transfer windows ! Follow on

And if it has to be scots and we sell McGregor for 5 mill - Alexander gets keeper - maybe Steve Fletcher and McFadden !

If we want value for money, we need to look outside of the UK.

Spot on. The Championship is a rip off, Premiership is way out of our reach, League 1 players go for as much as SPL players. Shame we only buy within the UK, our scouts are about as mobile as Steven Hawkins

We need to stop signing mediocre players from spl teams; it narrows the gap between them and us and weakens us more than them.

If that's the case then why are we on the verge of winning the SPL by the biggest points total we have in about a decade?

Don't get ne wrong, most.Scottish players lack the technical ability of more contenential players, but they tend to have a far greater understaning of what it means andtakes to play for Rangers and that ultimately makes us a stronger unit.

Yes we are top of the table and will win the league but think how we have struggled against St Mirren,Hamilton, Motherwell,Kilmarnock etc.We are now not "in a different league" from the trailing 10 of the spl.Our performances in Europe for the last two seasons show we are losing quality.

There is not one Scot in the SPL that would improve our 1st team, and the others would be squad players at best. We need players who are going to come in, and improve the 1st team.

I don't know why people continually mention Lee Wallace, and Andrew Driver (not even Scottish)? Both would cost too much, are not worth what they would cost, and are no betetr than what we have. Papac is by far a better defender, Andy Driver is a one trick, injury-prone pony, with absolutely no end product.

I'd take a guess that if we were interested in them, then it would cost at least £4.5m (combined). For the price these players would cost, you could get much better.

Bollocks, to be honest.

What you're saying is that taking an SPL side's best player, and adding them to an already strong Rangers squad, would lessen the gap between the two teams in questions?

Bizarre logic, that.

Have you quoted the wrong person?

Nobody has suggested that point of view, we are discussing value for money. If we went and bought somebody like Wallace or Driver we are looking at over £3million.

Now even you must see that for that type of money, we could get more value for money looking outside of the UK.
