WishartsAshes 1,137
Are you the McBoyd who coloured this photo. If so, is the colour of the lion rampant definitely gold.
McBoyd 355
I did my best to look at badges from the time, but no its no definite.
McBoyd 355
Also the colour overlay of their skin and hair you might want to play with a bit, just so it matches the shading of the black and white tones underneath, I used a bit of overlay/hard light.. maybe its just how its coming up on my phone, if so, ignore that. But I'd say the badge probably wasn't reddy pink, haha. (Lion)from what I've read it was either dark red and gold lion, or gold and dark red lion.. ps there's only one mcboyd

McBoyd 355
You still made the badge blue, is there a source that says it was a blue badge with redish lion per chance, or did you just decided upon that? Also the colours are still looking slightly painted on/over rather than actually mixing with the tones of the original black and white. I can see from the original that it could have been a dark red surround with a gold lion but I have opted for artistic license. I don't think it could have been a gold surround.I agree the colours are a bit sharp. I am currently trying to find a way of sharpening up the original to match the colour (rather than reducing the colour to blend with the original). Although in saying that I was going to touch up and finish the original colouring I did, it wasn't fully finished when I stopped working on it.
