Strikeforce

I must admit to being a fan of the Boyd/Miller partnership, but since they've came back from injury, I feel they haven't contributed anything!!

Boyd hasn't scored a goal in open play in 10 games now!!

Part of the problem for me is that we miss the midfield out quite a bit and go straigh from back to front but neither striker consistently holds the ball up.

The ball then gets shoved right back down the defenders throat.

For me, we're clearly still the best team in the league by a mile!!........results and league table don't lie!

But the problem i've got is that

1. the strikers aren't holding the ball up and brining others into play

2. the midfield is getting missed out

Point 1 could be addressed by dropping one or both players so they know they need to get their act together. I also think the fact that Boyd's uncertain future is affecting his performances.

Point 2 could be to do with either the midfield not demanding the ball and taking charge of the game or the fact that the defence have a tendancy to punt the ball long.

I dont want people thinking i'm being negative as I do believe we'll win the league and the team have done great this season but these ar just a few points that i've noticed when watching games recently, including the 1st half tonight which I saw online.

Not sure if people agree or not??

I didnt think our strikers were doing that badly today and was a little surprised at the change. Our failure today was down to our midfield and maybe a lack of hunger shown by the players, which would probably have spread to the strikers .

Miller has been very good recently, tonight went straight passed him.

Since Boyd's return, Miller has brought a lot more to the team than Kris.

Not sure if I agree about Miller to be honest.

A lot of our attacking moves break down with him due to either a bad touch or choosing the wrong decision.

He does contribute more than boyd but I still expect more from Miller as earlier in the season he was excellent!!

I'd give Naismith his opportunity up top, alongside Miller. Naismith is capable of winning as much as Boyd in the air, and it will give the midfield two strikers with decent mobility which will give us more passing options in possession.

Boyd should deffo be dropped. Maybe drop McCulloch for Edu whos a more natural midfielder.

I'd give lafferty his chance up top with Miller. Theres nothing we can do to improve the defence really.

One problem is thats no real competion for the strikers, this might actually be the kick in the arse that we need. We need a Barry Ferguson type player to drag the team through the games at times.

A lot of people wont like that statement mate but I totally agree.

We need someone to step up and take games by the scruff of the neck!

Someone in midfield needs to take the responsibility.

Davis or Thomson would be the 2 i'd look to.

I'd like us to try a differnt strike partnership on Saturday.

Both strikers need a kick up the arse and dropping one or both of them might just do it.

Miller and Naismith for Sat? Or would it be worthwhile trying Lafferty at CF?

Need to do something think boyd needs to be dropped dont know if its through that hes not fit or the contract situation has got to him but imo hes not looked interested since the turn of the year apart from maybe the hearts game but then is hamilton the sort of game that will spring him back into form maybe get a couple of goals
