MADJID BOUGHERRA admits his 'prime objective' is to become a star in the English top flight.

The Rangers defender is recovering following intensive treatment for a hamstring injury after visiting specialists in Qatar.

Bougy has been linked with a move to the Premier League and European champs Barcelona have been on his trail.

But the 27-year-old is adamant he is happy at Ibrox.

He said: "My present contract with Rangers runs until 2012. I could leave the club or stay until the end of my contract.

"It's true that my prime objective is to play in the English Premier League.

"But I must stress I'm happy at Rangers now and at ease with the situation."

He'll be away next January if we dont make the Champions League stages, whether he wants to go or not.

agree with this, think there's a possibility he'll be off in the summer as well

Is next season not the last one that we go straight to the group stages? Or do you mean the knockout rounds?

I doubt he will know the difference....

Fair enough. He's enjoying life at Rangers, and is content with the current situation - winning Championships and playing in the ECL. A few years down the line, he may feel like a change, and opt to play in the English Premier League. Fair enough.

Yes, the knockout rounds, although I had to phone a friend first, because I didn't know the difference. (tu)
