I checked out the players contracts at http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk which says we have 23 players and a monthly wage of £2,778,261, and they have 30 players with a wage of £2,643,000

I am inclined to believe them, since they are German. Is there anyway to find out who is on what amount?

Looking at the contract expiries isn't good reading either:

Kirk Broadfoot - 30.06.2010

Steven Smith - 30.06.2010

Andrew Little - 30.06.2010

DaMarcus Beasley - 30.06.2010

Gregg Wylde - 30.06.2010

Kris Boyd - 30.06.2010

Nacho Novo - 30.06.2010

David Weir - 30.06.2010

Neil Alexander - 30.06.2011

Saša Papac - 30.06.2011

Daniel Wilson - 30.06.2011

Lee McCulloch - 30.06.2011

Kevin Thomson - 30.06.2011

Kenny Miller - 30.06.2011

Kyle Lafferty - 30.06.2011

Andrius Velicka - 30.06.2011

There is nothing unusual in those figures at all regarding contracts, because that is par for the course where a club signs players at the end of a Season and their contracts expire in June. The only difference is where a player is signed in the January transfer window, which we haven't done for a while now, and their contract would possibly run out in December 31st.

Extended contracts will be offered to the players the Manager wants to keep and those he doesn't will be able to leave on freedom of contract...Simple.

The quote on players wages is only guess work because the only time the true wages are revealed is when the official revenue and expenditure figures are published .

If what is quoted is true, it just proves a fact that they have more shite players worth fuck all....and the figures for Keano the Beano won't be included in that because D.D. is forking out the sheckels from his pocket and not Ra Shelic.

Our total wages for last season were £30.7m and theirs were £38.8m.

Since then we have lost Ferguson and Mendes and others such as Adam and Dailly. They have taken on Keane at £65K a week. The accuracy of these figures is questionable at best.

I am inclined to believe them, since they are German.

TBH I found it kind of interesting BUT here is the 'fact' I stick 2. The more money on wages the better the team, always exceptions to the rulle BUT thats why Rangers and Celtic are the top 2 in Scotland and why we are drifting further aways from English clubs and until we can 'fix' the tv revenue inequalities that will continue.

Mmmmmmmm

by my fingers i make it that EVERY one of those 23 players would be earning above £30k per week to equate to the sum suggested

Here's the main figure to consider at this moment in time 53

Or to paraphrase the Jakey tramp on transfer deadline night "that's us won the league"

Far too simplistic. Chairmen like Murray, Ridsdale and Duffen will pay poor players big money simply to impress players and their agents. None of them are true football men and that is why they end up in the shitter.
