hutchy14 4
Manchester City have strongly denied Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp's claims that they forced Spurs to drop their efforts to sign Craig Bellamy.Redknapp claims City threatened to out-bid Tottenham for then-Wigan midfielder Wilson Palacios if Spurs competed for West Ham's Bellamy in January 2009."City said: 'If you do not drop out of Bellamy, we are going to sign Palacios'," said Redknapp.City have instructed their lawyers to look at Redknapp's comments."City have made a robust response, strongly denying the claims," said BBC sports news correspondent Gordon Farquhar."City say Wigan approached them offering Palacios, while Spurs were in mid-negotiation for him, and that they briefly considered, but swiftly rejected any move for him."The Premier League say it is unlikely they will investigate the allegations."Striker Bellamy moved to Manchester City from West Ham in a deal thought to be worth £14m on 19 January 2009, two days before Palacios completed a £12m switch to Tottenham."They said: "If you pull out of Bellamy, we will pull out of Palacios and then we both get a player," said Redknapp."We had no choice really. They just said 'We will blow you out of the water'."They have got the backing, they have got the clout to do that, they can do it if they want somebody."But at the time of the moves Mark Hughes, then Manchester City manager, rejected claims that the clubs had colluded to avoid bidding against each other for either player as "cheap shots".Do you think it is true or just tottenham trying to shit stir? Wouldn't put it past Man City right enough!Full Story

adam2102 504
harry redknapp is one of the most corrupt managers in football (although also one of the best!). he is the LAST person to be accusing other clubs of wrongdoing

I've heard a few stories, a full on accusation, and err... well, he acts a bit like Del Boy, doesn't he?".Thank God none of you have (fingers crossed) anything to do with the legal system. Orangeclement 477
Can i ask Spurs gers why Harry has decided to start speaking to the press again , is it simply he has a bigger job now or did the bbc give him some money to start speaking to them again ? thats the main reason i dislike the man now is his double standards

SpursGer 0
Also the fact that he seems to believe he is this amazing manager on the same level as Ferguson etc.Spurs are the 2nd biggest spenders recently too.See, that's just such an idiotic thing to say. Where has he ever, ever suggested that to be the case. Seriously? There are obvious similarities between the 2 (fantastic leaders of men, great motivators, surround themselves with specialists in areas they're not quite so sharp in), but to suggest Harry think's he's SAF Mk.II is just having a dig for the sake of it.Regarding the spending: http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=150423&view=findpost&p=1057940814
