Boab 73
Rangers will not receive a penny as a result of Charlie Adam leading Blackpool into the Barclays Premier League yesterday, as the deal which took the midfielder south did not include a promotion clause. Both the Ibrox club and the player’s agent confirmed last night that while there is a sell-on clause in Adam’s contract, reports suggesting Rangers would pocket up to £600,000 after his team won the Championship play-off final were wide of the mark.http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/rangers/no-rangers-windfall-from-blackpool-promotion-1.1029821?localLinksEnabled=false
boss 1,941
Another complete anti-Rangers non story from the Sunday Gerald.Of course Rangers make no money from Blackpool's promotion. We have known this since at least November. See the Accounts - Note 27 Contingent assets/liabilities:"For the Group and Company at 30 June 2009, additional ... transfer fees receivable of nil (2008 - nil) would arise if certain conditions in transfer contracts are fulfilled."http://www.rangerspedia.org/index.php/Accounts_-_2009

pcbear 10,891
500k at the time was a fair price for Adam, no one else other than Blackpool were interested, which was strange considering when on loan he was top man week in week out, apart from the odd flash his form at Ibrox was at best patchy, Rangers could have wiped out the debt and then have some left over if they staked the transfer fee with the bookies on Blackpool being in the EPL next season. Not many would have predicted that, good luck to Charlie Adam.As the man above said, a complete non story, i have never heard of such a clause, if there has been one anywhere let me know the player and clubs involved. Ibroxblue 118
The Gers are news. Our name sells papers. As for the alleged Adam promotion clause this story has been doing the rounds and appeared in the media. It's fair enough for the Herald to point out that it's not true. disgruntled_bear 157
If this is true it's more poor negotiations from us, not to add in this type of clause in. We can try to brush this off, but really it's a rookie mistake. We should be adding as much clauses in as possible when we are basically giving our players a way.
