Seriously though, Essien is talismanic for Ghana. They're fortunate to have an abundance of quality in that area of the park, but none are anywhere near Essien's standard, with the possible exception of Muntari, who I don't even know is going (had a fall out with the coach iirc). With that in mind, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that Germany and Serbia will qualify from that group.It's certainly a shame for Essien and a massive body blow for Ghana and the world cup in general.It's bloody good news for Australia, though.Germany and Serbia are odds on favourites to progress from the "group of death" but don't rule out a shock from the OzBoys.
