simplythebest 10,953
Sounds like Fergie fancies a La Liga game rather than manage his team in the Carling Cup. 1927: Michael Owen and Anderson both get their first competitive starts for Man United since February, Chris Smalling and Federico Macheda make the first XI with 20-year-old Portugal's 20-year-old forward Bebe on the bench. Sir Alex Ferguson, meanwhile, is watching Valencia v Atletico Madrid in Spain this evening.

Orangeclement 400
Watched the last 40 mins of the Real game in the pub.Marcelo has fair come onto a game! Also, for anyone that was wondering why half the pitch is fucked up, I heard their groundsman being interviewed the other day. Amazingly, he used to be the groundsman for Blackpool before Real 'signed' him Apparently one of the tractors that were pulling the grass cutter along had an oil leak and it's infected that half of the pitch. As for the game, Madrid look very solid and hard to beat. Benzema's wee feint before his shot for the goal was lovely as well. The old Arsenal groundsman is there as well is he not or is this the same guy ?
Papa Sasac 163
Turns out it is the Pinilla I thought. That's quite the step up, from not making it at hearts, struggling to get games elsewhere, to Seria A. Although just looked him up, his goal record at Grosseto.. 24 in 24 Always thought he looked a good player, very unlucky during his spell here.
Guest SandyIniesta-Nordahl
Yeah, looks like he could become a top player, a bit of an idiot off the the field though.
Papa Sasac 163
Part of his problems up here I suppose. If he could really knuckle down, don't see why a bigger team wouldn't show some interest.
Thommo 708
Part of his problems up here I suppose. If he could really knuckle down, don't see why a bigger team wouldn't show some interest.Inter were apparantly interested in signing him a few months before he went to Palermo. His goalscoring record at Grosseto is immense, a great player!
Papa Sasac 163
Really? Don't think that would be a good move, yet anyway. Milito, Eto'o, Pandev, Suazo would all be ahead of him, and he'd just be clicking his heels on the bench.
