Guest
Win this week’s league game against Dundee United postponed due to international call ups, Rangers took on Partick Thistle in a friendly at Murray Park tonight. It was another win, but like a few games this season an unconvincing performance.Only a fantastic point-blank save from Ryan Scally prevented Rangers taking the lead in the fifth minute. Rhys McCabe sent a cross field pass from left to right where he found Robbie Crawford who’s cross was right onto the head of Max Wright and Scally somehow kept out the striker’s powerful header. Wright hand another chance on 12 minutes, Kal Naismith broke forward before releasing Wright who advanced into the box before shooting which Scally saved easily.Thistle had a chance five minutes later when Wayne Drummond picked the ball up after releasing it from his hands, therefore conceding an indirect free-kick inside the box, Kieran Burns played the ball back to Paul Cairney who’s shot was blocked by the Rangers wall. Three minutes later and Rangers took the lead, Robbie Crawford gathered a poor kick from keeper Scally, his pass found Max Wright free inside the box and he calmly fired home.View the full article
