Following the devastating floods in Pakistan the Rangers Charity Foundation has decided to do what it can to help. We are therefore organising a can collection for the Rangers v Bursaspor Champion’s League match this coming Wednesday 29 September. All funds raised will be donated to the Pakistan Flood: Scotland’s Response Appeal.

Fourteen million people have been affected by this disaster. Two million are homeless and more than 2000 have sadly lost their lives.

The Club, through the Rangers Charity Foundation is encouraging fans to give what they can to help those affected and volunteers will be at the turnstiles on Wednesday with collection cans ready to receive donations.

We hope you will agree that this is a deserving cause and with Rangers fans renowned for their generosity we hope that our collection will really help make a difference to those who have been affected in Pakistan.

The Rangers Charity Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with the can collection. If you are over 16 years of age and able to spare some time prior to the match on Wednesday please contact the Foundation on 0141 580 8775 or email rangerscharity@rangers.co.ukThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . In addition, volunteers WILL RECIVE A FREE TICKET IF REQUIRED.

Dear Volunteer

Following your offer to support the Rangers Charity Foundation Can Collection on Wednesday 29 September I am now pleased to confirm arrangements.

* Please arrive at Exit 23A no later than 6pm on Wednesday.

* On arrival you will be given a Charity Foundation bib to wear and a collection bucket.

* Please make yourself noticeable and encourage fans to donate.

* Stewards will gather and take everyone inside the stadium at 6.15pm prompt and will position everyone around the stadium just inside the turnstiles. You will be collected again just before kick-off and brought back to Exit 23A where collection cans will be gathered from you.

* Safety of course is paramount. If for any reason the stadium needs to be evacuated please follow instructions and leave the stadium immediately if asked to do so.

* If you have requested a ticket for the game we will issue this on Wednesday when you arrive. After the collection you must leave the stadium by Exit 23A and go to the correct turnstile in order to watch the match.

* Should you no longer require the ticket or you are no longer able to volunteer please call me as soon as possible on 0141 580 8775.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Kind regards

Linda

Anyone in the Glasgow area who is skint and can't afford a ticket get along and do this. You'll be doing a good thing AND getting a free ticket.

Thanks for the heads up on Facebook Kev, it was a worthwhile evening. 10 quid return from Edinburgh, free ticket, no money to SDM, principles upheld, and 3 points into the bargain.

I'd do it again. (tu)

But I'd like to point out that I'm still a racist.
