weedurranty 28
in my opinion is because we are a settled side where every playwe is familiar with each other. anyone else agree?it goes to show you that when each player believes in each other and wants to play for each other..the possibilities are endless.Thoughts
Jamie1807 146
I agreePlus most of them seem to be very close in training and away from football
1st_Jan_1994 4,868
We have a core and a spine of a team. They are settled. That's half the battle.I'm not a massive fan of half our starting XI, but they are settled and know what's needed.
baltic_blue 108
never been a fan of huge changes to a team at the start of a season. always like to have 7 or 8 players who have played in the same team with each other for at least 3 years. having a defence who have played together for a couple of years is a huge benefit. The amount of changes that fanny baws has done at celtic is suicidal. I will give them another month and then they will start to fall apart. it happens almost 90% of the time if a new manager comes in and brings in a shit load of players. They normally get off to a good start but after a few months you start to see the cracks appear and hopefully that will be the case with them. not that they have looked good so far right enough. thebooler 4,509
Aye, it definately helps when the likes of Whitts and Broaders ken each other are shite.Seriously though, I think the team ethic is showing through in our displays, and everybody is playing for the jersey, and each other. We are really only 3 or 4 players away from being a "last 8" or "last 4" CL team in my honest opinion. That's what he had for the first 3 seasons or so in his first spell and they were the most succesful of his reign (7 out of 9 domestic trophies and the first CL run). The 2 seasons where he had a squad of 30+ players in both spells were 1997/98 and 2007/08 and they were the 2 he didn't win the league (though other factors were at work in 08).
