skinnymate1690 569
dont know if it sure be in bears den so move if not please but was listening to talksport after our game the other night and a point was made that the combined debt of the 2 teams was over £1 billion , how are we supposed to compete with this . we were £30 million in debt and we were up shit creek at one point . yet man utd still around £700 million are still able to spend around 25-30 million.imo team in that much debt shouldnt be allowed to play in the champions league , they should be living within there means , i know every team will have some "managable debt " like us but how is £700 million a managable debt
bluenose4life 5
thwoing good money after bad? UEFA rules though for next season? state that you can only compete in the CL if you are living within your means, so i expect alot of teams to be downsizing and cutting back to do that... Secondly, I'd expect clubs to become more creative in trading before they downsize. Finally, they will only be workable if the European fitba elite decide they want to play along. EUFA always dance to their song, not vice-versa, when push comes to shove.

bombaybadboy08 15,660
Man Utd make a lot more money than we do with the SKY deal etc,and Manti's right that UEFA will not cut their nose off to spite their face.
sdunsmb 43
When you look at a businesses financial situation, you have to look at figures other than the debt. Their debt is huge compared to Rangers but is not as big relative to turnover, hence why they can still afford to pay huge wages and spend 25-30m in transfer windows....although Man Utd are in a much worse position than Chelsea, City, or Real etc due to the Glaziers which is pretty shocking considering Man Utd have the largest global revenues in club football. dalton 1,192
They didnt enjoy anti football well we dont enjoy playing a club in debt yet getting away with it resting 30 millon pound players on the bench and not winning !Any team in our group have the cash now but probably are living beyond their means .It just makes it more satisfying for us that all the crowing from celtic about money for example means nothingif we beat them on the park.In Europe For Man utd and Valencia we are trying to punish the so called rich As The Turks found out first for their cost .
