Long over due, we should have at least matched Celtics 60000 capacity 10 years ago.

agreed

one of the biggest mistakes of murrays tenure. should have done this when there was a waiting list.

a massive percentage of our income is from gate reciepts, higher than average compared to other european clubs due to the big support/small country/ shit tv situation, and we've allowed the beggars a 20% advantage for about 12 yrs.

I agree, its criminal, all those full houses they got during MON's and Chesneys period there added up, 10000 more than us EVERY SECOND WEEK, its millions every year and fans wonder how they can pay more in wages and spend money on several players every transfer window(not that that is how to do it of course!)and whatever. I agree mate, it was a huge mistake.

no point if its not going to get filled!

would love to get rid of the screens though

Which big stadium is full every week? Only a few, a handfull, loads of clubs have bigger stadiums than us and very little of them fill them every week. Sell tickets correctly, play the right football, entertain and it will be full more often than not, making us much more money. I hate having a smaller stadia than them, it may be nicer, but its smaller and size does matter, dont let anyone tell you it doesnt!

think those shots were shown at the end of the 91/92 or 92/93 season review video. I recall it was to be a 59,000 capacity?

big mistake not to invest in the ground to that capacity then - would result in more fans at matches, more competitive prices for fans, and most likely more revenue.

I'd rather fix the screens, we've had a fair attendence over the past few seasons. The highest in Scotland even but with the financial climate like it is, there isn't much point adding more seats.

Plus someone can correct me here, but the screens are a main part of Ibrox having the 5 star Uefa status?

There was something in the AGM statement from Alastair Johnston that said not all profit was put into the debt because of proposed 'stadium improvements'

Probably not referring to capacity but not much was made of it at the time!
