tangledupinblue 0
where did you find these pics?Im sure they were printed in the sunday mail about 15 yrs ago.If i remember they were saying the capacity would have gone up to just under 60,000. That would be handier than screens that dont work.Aint going to happen any time soon.

Bonkgers 3
I thought we were getting a brand new 70,000 Sapporo dome style stadium with a removable pitch that we can direct to sunlight?
Zappa6995 3,436
Can't see it happening anytime soon although would certainly be welcomed.
Davie2909 21
How about they sort out better parking at the stadium first surely that would male more sense
SirWalterSmithLegend 206
Long over due, we should have at least matched Celtics 60000 capacity 10 years ago.
ForeverBlue_Since91 2,895
Don't like it. & would rather the screens just got fixed.
rossDas 1,071
Would those pillars not take our stadium's star rating down?
tangledupinblue 0
Long over due, we should have at least matched Celtics 60000 capacity 10 years ago.agreedone of the biggest mistakes of murrays tenure. should have done this when there was a waiting list.a massive percentage of our income is from gate reciepts, higher than average compared to other european clubs due to the big support/small country/ shit tv situation, and we've allowed the beggars a 20% advantage for about 12 yrs. gunslinger 270
even murray sadmits this was a big mistake not to go ahead with this.

I agree mate, it was a huge mistake.
alstone 374
no point if its not going to get filled!would love to get rid of the screens though
SirWalterSmithLegend 206
no point if its not going to get filled!would love to get rid of the screens thoughWhich big stadium is full every week? Only a few, a handfull, loads of clubs have bigger stadiums than us and very little of them fill them every week. Sell tickets correctly, play the right football, entertain and it will be full more often than not, making us much more money. I hate having a smaller stadia than them, it may be nicer, but its smaller and size does matter, dont let anyone tell you it doesnt!
rosshleach 0
think those shots were shown at the end of the 91/92 or 92/93 season review video. I recall it was to be a 59,000 capacity?big mistake not to invest in the ground to that capacity then - would result in more fans at matches, more competitive prices for fans, and most likely more revenue. Clemdog 39,388
I'd rather fix the screens, we've had a fair attendence over the past few seasons. The highest in Scotland even but with the financial climate like it is, there isn't much point adding more seats.Plus someone can correct me here, but the screens are a main part of Ibrox having the 5 star Uefa status? Jonnyboyrfc 296
There was something in the AGM statement from Alastair Johnston that said not all profit was put into the debt because of proposed 'stadium improvements'Probably not referring to capacity but not much was made of it at the time!
