djbroxybear 658
I would like to see Walter stay and given recognition for whats hes acheived at our club. He has come out and said hes quitting his post at end of the season, i think he should be given an offer in a position at the club.Whats your thoughts. mmrfc1873 48
The only thing Walter Smith should do at the end of the season is receive his Knight hood.
1st_Jan_1994 4,868
If he does step down as manager (I know it's been said that's what's happening, but maybe I'm stupidly holding onto the notion he might stay on) then I agree with WiiBear. He deserves to retire and have a happy retirement with his wife who I think's been really supportive of him.
mrmytto 220
He deserves a statue of him outside the stadium I think.
SirWalterSmithLegend 206
Let the man retire. He and his family deserve it.Well said. All good things have to end at some point. Our club have to move on.

ForeverBlue_Since91 2,895
Well if he does retire,he can be pretty happy at what he has done in his career. I would like to see him still involved with Rangers though.

ForeverBlue_Since91 2,895
Me too, or maybe not, does Mr Struth have one? He is the greatest.we already have one, lets not be like timmy and fling one up when ever we want. where would we put a statue of Smith or struth.???Nameing a stand after him is the best option, maybe name the broomloan after him.????I wouldn't change the name of the copland rd, as it is well known for the Rangers end. And is a catchy wee name.
SirWalterSmithLegend 206
Part time work as a spokesman defender of all things Rangers. No thanks, far too respectful to the tims. Hes too professional to speak openly and honestly about the sh*te this club and its fans have to put up with.

SirWalterSmithLegend 206
For ole super rangersStatues are not a timmy thing, you see them all over the world. Not even for 1 or 2 of our best ever managers? Of course they deserve something. We could put a statue anywhere we wanted. A gold one of Walter in the sitting position up in the directors box would do me, or a platinum one of him standing one arm up against the dug out with that long rain jacket on and lucky waist coat underneath!!! I dont know!!! But he should be honoured with something, maybe a quadruple in his final year?I would not be happy naming Copeland, Broomloan or Govan after Walter, he deserves a bigger, grander stand than them, maybe as 1st Jan said, put an extra tier on the Govan then rename it the Sir Walter Smith Stand? I said lets not be timmy and fling one up when ever we want.we all ready have one for the ibrox disaster. and i doubt smith would want one, naming a stand or hospitality suite after him would be better.plus the one that Celtic have just flung up for a so called legend is embarrasseing,i wouldn't want Rangers do this.
