Ally McCoist today gave an interview to the Daily Record where he discussed this weekends upcoming game at home against the in-form Motherwell and particularly his feelings about potentially taking over the reigns from Walter Smith at the end of the season.

McCoist opened by stating that he has never seen his mentor enjoying life as a football manager as much as he is right now;

"To be honest I'm loving it watching Walter loving it. I would never tempt fate when it comes to this business of the takeover. If it happens, I'll be ready for the job. There'll never be any doubt in my mind about that."
