Beattie baffled on faceless ban

James Beattie seemed to be of the same mindset as much of the Rangers support yesterday when he was quizzed about the retrospective ban that midweek Scotland hero Allan McGregor has had imposed by the SFA.

McGregor was awarded the ban after the match officials missed the incident within the game and the incident was then reported to the SFA by an as yet unknown party.

The keeper was notified by the SFA by a recorded delivery letter and by email of his ban for violent conduct which Rangers then had seven days to appeal, which they have declined.
