Carsons Dog 9,878
Bumped into a rabid tim on Saturday who has played at a reasonable level both North and South of the border. He was telling me his 11yr old nephew (also a tim from a tim family) was at Celtc up until recently and has since moved to Rangers where he is being coached by Alan Kernaghan.Apparently the set up at Rangers is far superior to that at Celtc, much more professional and the kids and their families are treated much better.Kernaghan is apparently a superb coach and brings the kids on much better than those at Celtc and the all round coaching is of a much higher standard.Good news I say.Interestingly Kernaghan played for the Republic of Ireland 26 times which I didnt know. Grandfather_Huck 5
Kernaghan's story was bizarre. He was born in England and moved to Northern Ireland when he was 4, supported Northern Ireland, and played for NI schoolboys. But he couldn't play for NI at senior level because despite his grandparents being from Belfast, they only had Irish passports. No idea how that works. Carsons Dog 9,878
Kernaghan's story was bizarre. He was born in England and moved to Northern Ireland when he was 4, supported Northern Ireland, and played for NI schoolboys. But because neither he nor his parents were born in NI, he was banned from playing for us because of some bizarre 'agreement' but was allowed to play for the RepublicYeah - just found thishttp://sport.scotsman.com/rangersfc/Kernaghan-still-pushing-back-the.3337606.jp

bonhillbear 58
Good to hear, must have all changed within the last 5 years because I had two kids from the team I coached choose Celtic over Rangers because the set up was more professional over there. Glad that we can now get the pick of the talent.
