Yes, he's been injured but with Weir, Bougherra, Papac & Broadfoot all seemingly ahead of him for a role at centre back then what chance does he have of actually making it now?

The chances are that he will play about ten games this season and leave in the Summer when his contract comes up.

Surely Smith and McCoist should have foreseen this situation arising and they should have looked to cash in/used him in a part exchange last Summer while his stock was high and we could have got something for him.

I don't want to sound harsh but at this moment in time it looks like Webster has to go down as one of the most unlucky signings in our recent history.

Hopefully away from Rangers and off our wage bill.

A complete and utter waste of money.

what surprised me was the fact Foster got a game ahead of him , could easily have shunted papac out to the left and webbie in the centre half spot , so that itself has confirmed in my mind that there is no role for Webster at our club , which is a shame , a mixture of injuries and back luck have cost him his career in essence .

i think he would have improved greatly playing alongside Weir and Boogie but we

shall never know ....

I don't think it had anything to do with form or injuries just pace and the fact Foster is a full back.

Whittaker and Broadfoot have been our full backs with Papac left of a back three.

Constantly out injured for us, goes to Dundee United and has a stormer, playing week in week out, made club captain and nominated for Player of the Year....then comes back to us and gets injured straight away (again) and hasnt been seen since. Something doesnt quite add up, I'm not so sure it is all down to being unlucky with injuries, reminds me a bit of the Gow situation actually.

Had high hopes for him after the season he had at United. Thought he would be in the starting 11 most weeks. If he leaves at the end of the season having played/contributed very little then he will surely go down as one of our worst signings in recent times

I think one of the main reasons for that was Walter thought that Foster's pace could hurt Valencia on the break

I wonder if he'll be Weir's replacement for next season?

Websters also out of contract this summer and so far it would appear we have made very litle attempt to enter negotiations with him.

Alexander, Papac(not certain sure I read it somewhere) McCulloch and Miller have all been offered deals, but we haven't heard a peep about Webster.

I don't know how we can be so harsh about Webster since he's hardly had a game with Gers. I still feel he should spell Weir from time to time and see what he can do. If Gers swap him for Gomis, who does Gomis replace in the midfield? I agree we could use more creativity in the midfield and Gomis should add that.
