BLUEDIGNITY 32,754
Keep Them ComingLAST night's game with Valencia was an exciting one for all of us and while it was disappointing not to win, I was really happy with the way we performed. In fairness, both sides had chances to win the match but ours were probably more clear cut and from that perspective we would have liked three points but it wasn't to be. We now face two away fixtures in our final three Champions League group ties and it is still going to be difficult to qualify for the last 16. But at the halfway point in our section, we've given ourselves a decent chance of progression and that's all we could have asked of the players. We are in better spirits than we were at this stage last year and my hope is we can take that into Sunday's Old Firm meeting with Celtic. The big games keep on coming but that's a good thing for us. We've got a small group but within that we have good unity and we relish this sort of thing. I was told this week that if we win at the weekend, the victory would give us our best start to a national championship in 89 years. Every time derby games come up and we look at the statistics, there are nice things for us to aim for. I don't place too much importance on them personally as I'm more concerned about trying to make sure we get what we want out of the matches.Records will maybe mean something in 10 years time. Just now it's only about trying to win, although it would be good of course to break fresh ground. We're always looking to achieve something new but the biggest thing is for us to go to Celtic Park and try to continue our good domestic form. The fact both teams have started the SPL with 100 per cent records is an aspect which will spur each of us on, not just this weekend but in the weeks ahead too. This season, it appears as though the outcome of the championship will maybe hinge a little more on the Old Firm games than it has in the past.We will go to Celtic Park hoping to do extremely well and, as always, it will be very tough, as it is for any team in Europe, but we will prepare ourselves for that.Walter Smith

thebooler 4,509
One of the very, very rare times I disagree with a part of Walter's statements.I don't think the Championship will hinge on the OF games more this season than any other. They have still to go to places like Aberdeen, Hibs & Hearts and win, like we've already done.If we even get a draw the morra, we'll be 6 points clear by Xmas. Walter will give celtc respect and he's right to. Showing your fiercest rival respect is fine. I cannot ever imagine lemon showing us respect. Doesn't bother me since I don't expect anything from that retard. But Walter always handles himself in a dignified, honest manner. The way we expect a Rangers manager to act.
