Sorry if this has been posted I couldn't see it anywhere.

HE latest edition of a top football computer game has sparked a furious row - as it features virtual Rangers fans singing the controversial FAMINE SONG.

The offensive chant is used as crowd noise on the soundtrack to Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 when gamers play Rangers at Ibrox.

Outraged players have flooded internet forums complaining about the lyrics, which urge people of Irish descent to "go home" as the famine "is now over". Japanese firm Konami has now been forced to replace the soundbite on the game, which was released on October 8.

Last night one player, who forked out £39.99 on a copy, said: "These lyrics don't belong on a video game which can be played by children.

"The issue is already controversial for very obvious reasons. Gamers across Scotland, Ireland and the rest of the UK are furious these lyrics have been added to the game.

"Decent Rangers fans who would never sing such offensive songs are angry that their club has been associated with these views." The song is so controversial it led to complaints to the Scottish Government from Irish authorities. PES 2011 is available on all major games consoles, including Xbox360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii.

Last night Konami said it "will be correcting the issue" but refused to explain how the chants made it on to the game. But Rangers insisted the soundtrack was recorded in a studio and NOT on the terraces of a live match.

It's thought an update, featuring other Rangers songs will be added to users' games when they go online.

A spokesman for anti-sectarian charity Nil By Mouth said: "We're pleased the firm acted to make the changes."

I thought they had been disbanded - but i'm not surprised they have reared their heads again at this time, the day before an OF game, but have been silent about indiscretions by timothy.

Emm, anyone else actually played it?

It's not TFIO.

The line is 'sheepshagging bastards, why don't you go home'.

Must have been taken from us against the sheep, but it's clearly not TFIO.

Shoddy journalism again from the Sun.

Was just about to ask that question.

It's not like the sun to sensationalise a negative story surrounding anything Rangers. Proposed Asda in Larkhall ring any bells??

The sooner folk stop buying this rag and visiting their website the better.
