VLADIMIR WEISS last night gave Rangers an Old Firm boost by hinting he may stay at Ibrox.

The on-loan Slovakian is due to rejoin Roberto Mancini at Manchester City in the summer, but he refuses to rule out a permanent move to Glasgow. He said: "The question of my future is a difficult one.

"I have a contract in Manchester until 2013 and I would like to return there, if that is possible.

"But I am very happy in Glasgow - Rangers are a club at the highest level with excellent training facilities.

"More people know me here and the interest in football is enormous."

Lets be honest, we probably couldnt afford him, but he is going to say these kind of things when asked these questions.

The boy would prefer to to go back. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.

Aye but hes saying that as though he knows in the back of his mind hes not going to get into that squad i think deep down he knows he will need to move if he wants to play regular football and there is no better alternative than the Rangers (tu)

Would like to see it happen but I think he'll be told at the end of the season that he isn't required at City any more and he'll be up for grabs. Will we be able to compete with the other teams who'll obviously be interested? I doubt it.

If City are willing to loan him out again then he'll be here again. :weiss:

He is a City player and given the chance to break into the first team he would love to do that, that is fine with me he is being honest.

I just can't really see him getting a start that's all, I would love to keep him up here. Loan or permanent would be fine.

Lets hope last weeks goal against Motherwell is a sign of things to come.

Hope so, but the longer he plays well, the more likelihood there is of Mancini using him in some capacity next season (even only as a fringe player)

Yes agree with that. And whenever I've heard Vladimir talk of City, there's a genuine affection there. But I'm sure he is coming to like us as well. At the end of the day though, getting kicked off the park in the SPL vs the EPL?

Mancini would have been impressed with his performance vs Valencia as well. The reason he's here I suspect.

Really like Vlaidimir though (tu) Class player. Imagine how good he will be in a 2-3 years.
