FlippinEck 3,518
VLADIMIR WEISS last night gave Rangers an Old Firm boost by hinting he may stay at Ibrox. The on-loan Slovakian is due to rejoin Roberto Mancini at Manchester City in the summer, but he refuses to rule out a permanent move to Glasgow. He said: "The question of my future is a difficult one."I have a contract in Manchester until 2013 and I would like to return there, if that is possible."But I am very happy in Glasgow - Rangers are a club at the highest level with excellent training facilities."More people know me here and the interest in football is enormous."Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/3193536/Vladimir-Weiss-hints-at-permanent-move.html#ixzz13BdKxziQLets be honest, we probably couldnt afford him, but he is going to say these kind of things when asked these questions. Ted E Bayer 446
"I have a contract in Manchester until 2013 and I would like to return there, if that is possible. The boy would prefer to to go back. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.

Guest
The boy would prefer to to go back. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.Aye but hes saying that as though he knows in the back of his mind hes not going to get into that squad i think deep down he knows he will need to move if he wants to play regular football and there is no better alternative than the Rangers
bluenose_72 198
Chances are he will review his situation with those at Man City next year, and if there isn't room for him in their squad then we will get first chance to loan him again.
Jocky Broon 207
Too early for that kind of decision but the good news is he is enjoying his time here and has struck up a relationship with the fans.He may find it very difficult to leave us and go back to Man City in the summer. Cappa 24
Would like to see it happen but I think he'll be told at the end of the season that he isn't required at City any more and he'll be up for grabs. Will we be able to compete with the other teams who'll obviously be interested? I doubt it. If City are willing to loan him out again then he'll be here again. :weiss:
TravelingWilBEARy 4,319
Another loan spell here will be orgasmic.
PaulRFC1 115
I think he is basically saying either way he is happy. He would stay there or come here.
TexasGers 96
Hope so, but the longer he plays well, the more likelihood there is of Mancini using him in some capacity next season (even only as a fringe player)
delamonty 992
He won't get nights like last Wed v Valencia @ City;. Surely he knows that?Would ove for the wee man to stay!
simon 1,717
He is a City player and given the chance to break into the first team he would love to do that, that is fine with me he is being honest.I just can't really see him getting a start that's all, I would love to keep him up here. Loan or permanent would be fine. Lets hope last weeks goal against Motherwell is a sign of things to come.
maxwellrfc 6
Hopefully we get him on loan next season aswell, can't see us being able to afford to by him.
bombaybadboy08 15,660
Would be great, doubt he will get into their team so hopefully the lure of Champions League football and medals would sway him into staying.Just depends on what City would be asking though. delamonty 992
Hope so, but the longer he plays well, the more likelihood there is of Mancini using him in some capacity next season (even only as a fringe player)Yes agree with that. And whenever I've heard Vladimir talk of City, there's a genuine affection there. But I'm sure he is coming to like us as well. At the end of the day though, getting kicked off the park in the SPL vs the EPL?Mancini would have been impressed with his performance vs Valencia as well. The reason he's here I suspect.Really like Vlaidimir though Class player. Imagine how good he will be in a 2-3 years.
supermac 115
Absolutely no chance of him being a consistent starter for City Silva, Milner, Johnson & SWP all wide players and who's to say they wont strengthen again. We are good for him and vice versa
jonoger1984 4
I think we might get him on loan again next season, buying him outright may not be possible unfortunately.

1st_Jan_1994 4,868
If that's the article, then I really struggle to piece together where he says he might stay. He's simply not ruled anything in or out. Par for the course for a footballer. He's just being diplomatic.
blueben_d 40
Whens his contract up at city? Can see another loan deal but you'd be talking a few million for permanent and I can't see us having the cash required
