I have been on this forum for a while now and although i dont post very often im starting to get a bit annoyed. Every other post on this forum from gers fans is a link to a certain article in a paper or a quote they have read online that they arent happy with. I have to ask why some journalists opinion has such influence on you. The fact you post there columns on here only provides an ego boost to them and false belief that there opinion actually matters or has any barring on our club because it doesn't, no matter what they write rangers will always be here thats why i read and laugh. If you need someone else's opinion to tell you what rangers is or what the club means then im sorry because you don't actually know yourself.

LET THE OTHERS COME AFTER US. WE WELCOME THE CHASE

It's a bit of both.

Some people are an offended bunch and actually look for stuff to get their backs up about but there's a lot of times Rangers fans get called paranoid for fighting back and wanting to defend the club - which there's nothing wrong with.

Two way street.

Its a fair point, at the same time no fan wants to see the club talked about badly and will obviously have something to say about it.

It is easy to just dismiss the media but the fact is our club and us, the fans, get a lot of shit thrown at us and we should stand up for ourselves.

I personally don't care (most of the time) about the thoughts or ramblings of radio pundits, sports writers etc regarding Rangers and the fans.

When the club or fans are being slated and it's unjustified then i do have a problem, as others do.

Expressing your support, your thoughts or your opinions on Rangers Media with other Rangers fans is a good outlet.

Agree with that. Recently for me though there hus been a huge whift of paranoia and every second thread on here seems to be some shite about what someone has or hasn't wrote.

Spot on.

I don't think anyone's ever actually offended at any of their pish but that doesn't mean they should get away with it either.

I just want to see parity from the media, for us to get the same treatment as others. Being the biggest club makes us a target by default but for me certain papers and journalists have an anti Rangers agenda and dont let facts get in the way of publishing their bile. I dont go out of my way to be offended but sometimes when i read the biased positions being taken against our club and its fans it makes me sick especially when we are portrayed as the forces of evil and darkness and our enemies are portrayed as the harmless good guys.

It's a fact that soft targets get picked on - it's a basic law of nature and can be witnessed in many aspects of life; the disparity shown over supporters songs is an example of this.

It would be incredibly foolish to underestimate the power of propaganda, and the effect appearance in the public consciousness. I for one do not recommend that we sit idly by whilst the enemy paints us as being the bad-guy of Scottish culture.

As the saying goes, 'all evil needs is for the good to do nothing.'

Exactly.

Loads of people calling fellow Bears paranoid, but I think they struggle to appreciate the difference between paranoia and defending yourself from attack.

Paranoia is coming out and saying refs and officials and bodies etc hate you, based on nothing but a bad decision/an isolated incident or a gut feeling.

Defending yourself is standing up to people when they make mountains out of molehills and go out of their way to insult you.

That's not a fact, it's an opinion.

We have no moral obligation to defend the club. That's not our job.

I'd disagree, strongly.

Anyone who claims to be a Rangers fan should defend the club or at very least give their opinion back.

Even more so when the people who's actually paid to do it (their job) don't.

I don't think we're particularly shy in doing either.

Whilst some will continue to do it, I don't really have a problem with it. I just think that whilst it remains completely unorganised in any way, it's utterly pointless and ineffectual.

And going out of their way to take offence at the leat little thing all in the name of making us look bad and to attempt to occupy the moral high ground.
