Thommo 708
I'd have Alexander ahead of him every day of the week, but that's just my opinion. Hopefully we manage to hang on to McGregor but looks unlikely especially if he continues his form. Gilks is a decent keeper but nothing special. markybear 136
If true then greegsy must be for the off, that's the main issue for me
ChrisVanDarche 23
Non-story. Alexander will be number 1 if/when McGregor leaves.
Broxi 10,589
would rather shagger but would rather gilks than alexanderi rate gilks quite highly

King_gazza 1,065
Mcgregor will leave for no less than 8m and ally will get it to spend on 3-4 new players, possibly signing weiss. On the topic tho,i would make alexander 1st choice, deserves it after uefa cup run imo
Grandfather_Huck 5
Sounds like a token media story tbhHolloway was saying in the papers yesterday that he has resigned himself to losing Gilks and David Vaughan because they're only on £10,000 a week and the club can't go higher than thatAre we really going to offer a Blackpool goalkeeper more than 10 grand a week? I fucking hope not
Rohan 18
Looks like a decent keeper but It would be hard to say he's better than Alexander, certainly not worth over 10k a week
Chef 436
alexander away in january i reckon
simplythebest 11,437
Goalkeeper is the last position we need to strengthen really.
simplythebest 11,437
Well having read the article now i see it's assuming McGregor is leaving, but talksport do talk a load of pish at times.
King_gazza 1,065
alexander away in january i reckonWhy have we offered him a new deal then?I hate to say it but if anyone leaves it will be shagger, but wont be till the summer because we will still be in the champions league after christmas
Grandfather_Huck 5
alexander away in january i reckonWhatever happened to all the talk of Alexander signing a new contract? He claimed it was a done deal and would be signed within days, but that was about 2 months ago now
Madina 3,400
He has had a good season so far for Blackpool, but I wouldnt be entirely happy if he was to join and become first choice. If/when McGregor leaves Alexander should be first choice IMO
docspiderman 1,122
alexander away in january i reckonVery much doubt that; no team in Scotland will pay anywhere near the wage he gets with us.He was freed by Cardiff and then we got him for free from Ipswich so there has been no clamour from championship teams to sign him and 3 seasons of mostly bench warming will not have made him more wanted down south. He knows he is on a good thing, good wages, medals every season and a few games every now and then.It is awin win situation for him and the club. Kingbo 0
I always thought we might show some interest in Cammy Bell were we to sell Greegs, with Alexander taking over as number 1. I hear Jim Stewart rates Bell highly, having worked with him in the Scotland set-up.
King_gazza 1,065
Hahahahaha I love where people pull this stuff fromWhats funny about that?
Grandfather_Huck 5
Celtic could do a lot worse than make Alexander an offerHe'd probably go n all if he was guaranteed the number 1 slot
DarcheVinny 1,003
non-story for me
Papa Sasac 164
To be honest, I wouldn't be too confident having Alexander as our number 1.
Ozblue 4,331
Here's a little tip for those who don't seem to know it...Neil Alexander is the 2nd best keeper in Scotland in Scotland, bar none.If McGregor goes, then Alexander will be the number one and won't let us down.I still think shagger will be at Ibrox for a long time unless an EPL team are willing to lighten their bank balance severely to sign him.As for Gilks, I still say that young Mitch Langerack is a far better keeper than Gilks even at his early age and would be a better investment if we need to buy another keeper (which I hope we don't.) Raligt 2,534
Langerack just signed with Dortmund in the summer. Prob wont have a chance to sign him for a few years or so.Alexander should be given the No. 1 jersey. Hes proved he can perform on the european stage, i would say hes better than Gilks.
