Guest
Valencia 3 vs. 0 RangersThe worst thing Rangers could have done was to build our confidence so high when Valencia came calling to Ibrox just two weeks ago. That night, with a touch more luck, we could have won the game by a few goals with a performance that matched anything we’d witnessed in Europe in a good few years. So before a ball was kicked tonight we knew we had a chance.Rangers had their strongest available eleven to put out on the park with Edu having come through late fitness test. The back 5 was deployed again in what had become a successful European tactic for the Gers and it was working well in the early stages as Valencia came out strong. McGregor had to be on top of his game and pulled off a couple of good saves before the moment came that changed the night for Rangers.A break down the left saw Naismith breeze past the Valencia right back, power forward past the central defender before cutting back inside and firing a ferocious shot past the diving keeper onto the inside of the post and back out again. Aaarghhh!! What if? If only? But there was no answer. Rangers had missed their chance and if you looked at them closely, they knew it.View the full article
