Should we let the youths play the CIS Cup

AFTER THE TERRIBLE PERFORMANCE AGAINST VALENCIA MIDWEEK AND WATCHING OUR MORE EXPERIENCED AND BETTER PLAYERS - THEY WERE AFTER 60 MINUTES AWAY BEHIND THE PACE AND VALENCIA WERE FAR FITTER - THIS SHOULD NOT IMO BE ONE OF OUR PROBLEMS AS MURRAY PARK HAS GREAT FACILITIES !

WE WERE NOT ONLY SLOW BUT THE LEGS WERE THAT HEAVY WE COULDN'T PASS OR CONTROL THE BALL - THIS MADE ME THNINK AND IT HAS PROBABLY BEEN BROUGHT UP A LOT OF TIMES BUT SHOULD WE PLAY THE CIS CUP WITH THE YOUTHS AND FRINGE PLAYERS AND CONCENTRATE ON THE SPL AND EUROPE BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE ?

AFTER ALL THATS WHERE THE CASH IS ?

I AM NOT SAYING I AGREE WITH THIS QUESTION OR NOT I AM JUST CURIOUS AS TTO WHAT THE BEARS THINK ?

No, we are The Rangers and we set out to win everything, i don't mind having a couple of fringe or youth players mixed in with the main players, but playing a full team of fringe and youth players wont benefit anyone when they get put out after 1 game

definetly for the domestic cups, but i would like some of them introduced in the league and in cl games too. Some of the players this year have been diabolical in games but will never get subbed or replaced next game.

Look at edu on tuesday, wasn't match fit and was toiling throughout the game. We had a direct replacement in Hutton who could have come on but no, walter too afraid to try anything different.

i'm not saying our youths are world beaters but apart from 1(mcgregor) neither are the first team players. They are now 18-20 and should be able to compete and start ahead of the likes of whittaker, mculloch, papac, edu, broadfoot who are competent at best.

I never gave my opinion as I wanted to see a few of the Bears first..................I feel we should in the early stages let a few young players play with experience around them but I agree with the Bears who said - " you pay to see Rangers - so you should see Rangers"

You can look at this from many angles - look at Danny Wilson last season - he would never have been involved if Bougherra was not away and injured and Kirk etc yet he played 25 games and was signed for 3 million - makes you think - How many more young lads have we got that are quality ?

I would see what the score was in games and then maybe throw on 3 young lads if we were 2-3-0 up but as the competitions went on the main players I think would have to be involved !

Just wondered what the thoughts were / are and I think Walter at times is too cautious with youth etc - i.e. Weiss although injured but was he not brought up for Champions League experience ?

:weiss: I dont think that Man City wont be too happy I dont think as he is quality and could change a game with a counter attack - anyway we can still make the last 16 but realistically the 3rd spot we must aim for as Bursapor away will not be an east match IMO !

Strongest 11 every week and every game for me. I want our club to win every game and every competition we enter and when we dont, im not happy one little bit. We are Rangers and winning is what we do! If kids are good enough they will get a game regardless of competition and opposition.

Exactly.

Too many people on here obviously don't give a shit about us being the worlds most successful team.

To maintain that, we need to win these sorts of trophies as part of doubles & trebles.

Strongest team, every game. They are professional footballers. It only takes 4 games to win it.

The CIS cup is a trophy with no real value (other than the cup that helps to complete the treble).

I would love to use this as a vehicle to blood our better youth players, along with our fringe players.

It is still a competitive game that will give players a real test & a aplace to show their worthiness of moving into 1st team contention,
