STUFF YOUR PROBE!

CELTIC will be told to FORGET any idea of a probe into Wednesday's defeat by Hearts.

Neil Lennon demanded answers after ref Craig Thomson sent off the Hoops boss and Joe Ledley and denied Celts a penalty.

But SunSport can reveal SFA chiefs will bluntly boot out any Parkhead letter asking for a probe along the lines of the one into ref Dougie McDonald's U-turn at Tannadice.

SFA bosses will merely send a terse reply explaining why Ledley and Lennon were sent packing. Celtic WON'T appeal Ledley's red card for a horror lunge on Ian Black.

But last night Hoops chiefs were still undecided about writing to SFA chief executive Stewart Regan for a full explanation of events at Tynecastle - less than a month after a letter to the governing body sparked the probe into McDonald.

It emerged then that the whistler and assistant linesman Steven Craven had LIED to Lennon while explaining a U-turn over a penalty award in Celtic's 2-1 win over Dundee United on October 17.

Meanwhile, Lennon is facing a two-match dugout ban unless he appeals his sending off during Wednesday's 2-0 defeat by Hearts.

He could also be punished for his bitter post-match comments, when he he blasted Thomson and sniped that the match officials would "probably have their story ready already".

It's understood the SFA have received ref Thomson's match report but won't confirm any details until Celtic have been notified.

But now Celtic, and especially Lennon, are coming under mounting pressure to end their relentless attacks on match officials.
