trueblue68 2,497
Quite a shocker this one will be interesting to see what a 37 year old Pires can bring to the EPLhttp://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_6511355,00.html

Millsyrfc1 13
Wenger was reported as saying he was very impressed with his fitness levels for a 37 year old when he was training with arsenal, think and hope he will do well, nothing to lose in a sense for villa anyway who will be more than able to afford the wages he wants and is for nothing. Jimbo. 952
absolutely zilch imoI think it depends how Villa perform tbh.If he can get enough of the ball going forward I think he might do alright. But his game was all action, and surely he won't have the legs for that anymore? H72 265
Pires is one of the main reasons I love football. I used to adore watching the Arsenal side that boasted the talents of himself, Henry, Wiltord, Vieira, Ljungberg, Bergkamp, Overmars...Hope he does well. "That is an outstanding goal, from a magnificent player."Couldn't say it any better myself.
Madina 3,400
Dont really think he will have much of an impact TBH, can see him being used mostly as an "impact sub"
FatPirateHooker 141
Probabaly more of a mentor for the youth.
BlueSuedeSambas 52,692
Reo Coker will be the workhorse and Pires will play smack bang in the middle of the park beside him.His footballing brain will help the team retain possession and start their quick counter attacks from deep. When Petrov returns to fitness Pires will probably play from the bench.
