Danny Wilson Scotland Cap

Just wondering whether Danny Wilson's Scotland debut will increase the transfer fee that we got in the summer.

I think it's at £2.5m, £2m up front plus £500,000 for his debut against Northampton Town.

Does anyone know of the conditions for the add-ons to the £5m.

more likley after 5-10 caps.

fucking abysmal fee for the talent the lads go anyway.

2 million upfront rising to 5 million for someone in the final year of his contract?

I thought it was generally accepted it was good business for us. Especially as he wasn't going to re-sign.

the out of contract things not quite as relevant for a player that young. for me liverpool picked up a player who will e one of rthe best centre backs in the world for peanuts.

mark my words ive watched him since he was 15 hes going to be superb.

Disagree, but if he does - then I heard it from you first.

Either take the £2m rising to £5m, or whatever the deal is, or lose him for £500k... I know what I'd rather have. Danny Wilson is a very good young player, but he didn't want to sign a new deal...

Exactly, and if he goes on to be a relative success, enough to get us £5M then its fantastic business for a player that played a handful of games for us... if he goes on to fail at liverpool and generally not live up to the hype as it turns out he isnt as good as he was meant to be then £2M is a steal

the assumption we would loose him for 500k was wrong. thats whe we could turn down liverpools initial offer.

tribunals are setting far greater and more reflective fees these days.

I think Wilson is fantastic, but you're wildly overrating the boy.

A lot of his future fee depends on how he fills out physically for me. In terms of talent in the ball, he's already up there with the best but even the likes of John Sutton and Billy Mehmet absolutely dominated him in terms of strength.

physical part is a piece of piss.

even i could get strong enough in no time. id be more woried about the talent side and hes got that sown up. lets no forget he was 17 for a good part off last season.

anyway hes dominating his man tonight no problem :)

i repeat hes a very very special talent. i cant prove that for a few years but i can only see john kennedy style injuries stopping him from reaching the very top.

I agree mate, on everything but the strength thing.

He's not the biggest, he's pretty slight, but he may well be the type of CB who uses his speed and awareness more than he uses his brawn. I just think that against a Drogba, Soldado, Higuain or even someone of a similar age such as Romela Lukaku, he'll get absolutely raped.

It's not as easy as you say to build a physique befitting of British football, but again I'd go back to my second line - he may not need it.

i stood next to him when he was 16 an he was about 6 foot 2. an hour a day in the gym and eating the right things will soon see you pick up muscle mass.

anyway when you can read the game like he can at such a young age your right it wont be an issue.

youv also named 3 off the best strikers in the world as people who would rape him.

hes 18 ffs they might well but give him some time.

Very much doubt we would have got more than that. At the time, and it was mentioned on a few occassions, the club expected something in the region of between £500k and £650k...
