minstral 5,375
A Team of Legends !http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=43213 Blue i was only 13 years old then, and it looked like it was heading for a draw. But Willie Henderson who was the best player that day received a great pass from Baxter, then crossed a fantastic ball for Jimmy Millar to score with a great header. The nearly always went back to St Enoch hotel where the paraded the cup on the balcony

delamonty 992
The Rapid (away) match was incredible. Absolutely took the piss. If you ever see Davie Wilson's comments. Basically it was. "Jimmy Baxter didn't just want to win, he wanted to take the piss (paraphrase).Davie continues .. "I said 'Give the ball to me, let me take it to the bye line. But naw, Jim wanted to nutmeg some guy...' Sorry off the top of my head and not surely accurate.Slim Jim left that pitch with a broken leg.

delamonty 992
What a performance by Slim Jim. Agreed mate. I've only seen the highlights but Slim Jim was just on a different level. Not only did he want to win. He wanted to win in 'style'. Pele: "I wish Jim Baxter was born a Brazilian!"
nvager 498
What a performance by Slim Jim. Fantastic performance.I was at the Dundee Cup final - Millar was an underrated centre forward. He and Brand made a great partnership as did McMillan and Baxter. Add two great wingers and you can see why that team was special.

That final against Dundee in 1964 was a cracker. Four goals scored in 2X 2 minute spells..an attendance of almost 121,000 and some of the best players of their era in both teams. No wonder we love the nostalgia at times.
