Rule Britannia GSTQ 1
I have a feeling today will come and go just like the others, these sources claim that everything is in place and it should already be done by now but one question? Where's the bid?

andyboy66 0
No more Lloyds!!!!!!!! No more Murray!!!!!!!! Rid of Bain!!!!!!!!!!! Get the deadwood to fuck and lets start being Rangers again.A private press conference for Rangers TV and Rangers news would be the icing on the cake, no taig infested mhedia, no Spiers, Keevins or Guidi, no Grant, Cully or McGuire. A signal of intent from Whyte is what is needed. I dont think we can or will hear anything official until tmrw at the earliest, if its going to go through.Martin Bain has been excellent for our club!! CanadianBacon 2,088
GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS (May 2011 edition)The world famous Guinness Book Of Records have been in touch to officially announce that the wee London-based spiv has been awarded "The Longest Takeover In History" prize. It's spokesman, Arthur Incredulous, said, "We've been following this one from the outset as we had good feelings about it. Our staff have been counting the days and it was only yesterday (May 2nd) that it passed the previous World Record held by Mrs Biggins Butter Factory when she took over the Mr Biggins Margarine Factory in 1948 in a long drawn-out tussle after their bitter divorce over 'toast rights'.A spokesman for the wee London-based spiv said.................. well, nothing really! MosesMcNeil 1,664
after the close of play today for sure.If I had a penny for every one of your 'today' blethers I'd be worth, what, about £1.17?
MosesMcNeil 1,664
Shock Horror rival bidder says the opponents bid is not the way to go lolCuriously enough - the alternative bidders could have made a bid that would have blown Whyte's offer into a state of irrelevance. Debate over, and yet these mega wealthy Rangers directors have stood by and watched the unwelcome dramas unfolding for years. But, Whyte stopping the dramas is the wrong deal now? It's surely a lot less wrong than what the current incumbents have presided over. All that money in their pockets (they say) and it's taken Whyte to smoke them out. Seems reasonable to conclude they are more upset that someone else seems to be getting the bargain and not them.
Guardian 4,281
Mystery money men who come from nowhere.A huge tax bill that Whyte will be stuck with, while their bid would have made it vanish as if by magic. (No coincidence their bid emerged the same day the tax case restarted). They can somehow renegotiate the loan to another bank, yet couldn't get away from Lloyds before. We'll be stronger but still have the debt ?£10m won't be enough to rebuild the team ? Why is that ? Oh that's right, it's because the board presided over the running down of the team.I wouldn't believe a word these glasgow bases divs come out with. Folk have speculated on Whytes finances, but this lot admit they ain't saying where it's coming from, despite proving year in/year out they don't have a pot to piss in.The talk of fan ownership is just stroking us.F*ck off Murray, you've had years to take a shot and did nothing. jmo21 15
The most interesting part of that Record story is this:Secondly, he is extremely concerned that Rangers are to be fully exposed to an adverse outcome from the HMRC tribunal because the club will still carry the responsibility for any liability after the deal has been completed. So much for David Murray covering any HMRC bill (if this is to be believed).Followed by a little later...."But crucially, and I believe fairly, any liability arising from an adverse tax ruling would rest with the Murray Group/Lloyds Banking Group. So Paul Murray's bid would force any tax issues onto the Murray Grou, but Whyte's bid wouldn't???
