dc1872 2
Isn't the YLOD the result of overheating?
NeilRFC 10
I don't know I heard if it keeps overheating it'll fuck solder joints on the motherboard causing it to get the YLOD, but I just wanted clarification.

Goianegra 4,710
YLOD? Sounds made up by angry obsessed Xbox users Mine has been overheating for about a year now. Besides that, no problems at all.
Ace 3,645
unless you have the thing inside a closed box or have deliberately bloked the vents it shouldn't overheat .. Unless the fan is fucked. You can buy a secondary fan from Game that you can attach to the back of it.
NeilRFC 10
Seems like its fucked, was playing Gran Turismo 5 last night when it turned off by itself and the red standby light was blinking, so I turned it off and gave it 30 minutes to cool down and tried it again and the same thing happened, so I left it overnight and when I got up this morning I hoovered out all the air vents and fan area incase it was dust. Same thing happening when I turn it on but I noticed when it turns off the yellow light appears but only for a second then turns red, theres plenty of room around the PS3 so I don't know why its overheating, kinda pissed off isn't been long since I paid 90 quid to get the blu ray laser fixed. Ah well back to the Xbox.
